Better than a clinic

Coach Labeots ·
Coach Knight & Coach Wilk I hope you don't mind, but I have to tell others that the information these guys sent to me is WAY better than any clinic I've attended. They were gracious enough to give me stuff that I'm sure took years in the making. At clinics I try to get one thing that I can use. From them I've got many useful immediately things. Thanks Guys. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I hope this continues and others jump in.

Re: BBCOR Bats for High School

Big Red ·
I think it's a little exaggerated. Once you break the bats in, THEY ARE BETTER THAN WOOD. It takes quite a few swings though. That said, you'd be putting yourself at a competitive disadvantage going to the BBCORE early. Wouldn't recommend it if you can help it.

Re: Prior Done for the year

itsrosy ·
At least this SHOULD put an end to the falsehoods that Prior was soft and unwilling to pitch through the usual pitcher's problems. He had, according to what's been released, a major cleanout and work done to the shoulder capsule including tendons, ligaments and all the rest of what's in there. He avoided the more invasive rotator cuff surgery that ends so many pitchers' careers. That being said, IMO, from all the time that I've spent with my son in Birmingham and seeing first hand what...

Re: Georgetown

Rob Kremer ·
Coach Wilk told us that the school was starting to fund scholarships as of the 2007-8 school year, and that up to that point they treated baseball as if they were an Ivy. That, of course, explains why they were not competitive in the Big East. He said in 07-08 he had nine schollys to give and would be fully funded the next year. Should help the program rise out of the perennial cellar.

Re: Georgetown

I guess this would fall under not being given the tools to win. They recruited six players for incoming '12 class. There are now thirty rostered players. It looks like good seats are still available.

Re: Georgetown

isaacvanwart; the lack of sophistication in your commentary amazes me. The campus is beautiful - Healy Hall is a landmark recognized world round, and Copley and White Gravenor nearly are. And Healy and Copley lawns are right inside the Healy Gates. There may not be a lot of grass, but tell, me where in Georgetown IS there a lot of grass? Yes, it plays baseball off campus, but the field is nice. It may not be a baseball school yet, but Wilk is helping it to move up the ladder. Oh, and PS,...

Re: Torn Labrum recovery

cplz, great news about your son's recovery. I checked out your link to ASMI and one of the books written by Kevin Wilk. As you know, Kevin is the #1 PT up in Doc Andrews rehab facility. When Drew Brees had his shoulder rebuilt by Andrews, I heard that he did basically his entire rehab in Birmingham, and worked out daily with Kevin Wilk. KW deserves as much credit as JA in this case. Heard that this was the worst looking shoulder injury Doc Andrews had seen.

Re: Pitching after TJ surgery

dawg i'm no Dr,much less a Dr Andrews. my concern is just that from what we have been through,it seams quick. we went to Dr Andrews as well, after surgery we spent more time with Dr Wilk the rehab guy. they know what they are doing. the players i know that have had tj are hard throwers, 90+. it is my belief that that is a major cause of the injury. (arms not ready to throw that hard.)among other things of course. so when your saying your son is pitching off the mound and throwing 90 again...

What does "On the field" mean in this context, does it mean spread and use the whole field?

iplaybaseballtoo ·
Rewording question because people are having trouble understanding it. Before I go into the details here is the premise of the argument if someone says "do you want to take an infield/outfield on the field?" during warmups before a game where would you go? The two choices are to the outfield where you do a infield/outfield, or to your normal game position on the field. The answer should solely be based on how the question was phrased. I got into this debate with my friend because he stated...
