Re: Buster Posey Runned Over
Thanks JH for the info. I just don't think we need to take one play where the catcher is not doing the right thing to totally change the rules of the game. I personally think it was a cheap shot but not something to change the rules. Has Posey spoken about the incident? I think he will be like Schaeffer and say that his technique was wrong. He may say it was a cheap shot but like redbird said - he stays on his feet and we are NOT discussing this today. Posey would probably be sore and need a...

Re: Buster Posey Runned Over
Coach, he was not on the ground like you two have stated. If he was, he gets trucked and it's over. His foot was in the ground. I'm not saying he should have gone to his knees, but to say that he was off his feet is inaccurate. If his foot hadn't been planted into the ground, he doesn't break his leg and tear the ligaments in his ankle. I am not completely against collisions at the plate, but this one was out of line. The baserunner deviated greatly from the basepath to cause the collision.

Re: Overhangs at home plate...
They beat LWEast in a doubleheader with both games decided with walk-off home runs. #29, a little righthanded hitting outfielder for Rice, hit the ball on the nose to tie the first game and then Fazy, a little lefthander, hit a fly ball to left that carried out. In the second game, after the first baseman misplayed a foul popup, the lefthanded hitter drilled a rocket to right center with two on and that was the ball game. Watched Schaeffer. He got hbp; walked a couple of times and struck out...

Re: Overhangs at home plate...
The backstop at Rice is due to a lack of room to do anything bigger. However it is better than St. Francis Desales who did not have a backstop and we used a cone for a backstop. I would not call Fazy and Eble (29) small either. They are both very strong, especially Eble. Schaeffer is just slow...no injuries.

Re: Seahawks or Pats
When I was a kid the Patriots did worse than suck. They were a joke. We used to sneak into games at Harvard and BC. It was easy. The Patriots probably told security to let us sneak in so there would be fans in the seats. I was at the snowball game against the Vikings at Harvard. My biggest memory as a kid was a pregnant lady beating the piss out of a (guessing) twelve year old over a ball on an extra point. This was before end zone nets. (I knew that deep down inside you loved the Bear.) Just think about what 40% does: 1. My ROI in 2006 was about 24% 2. My ROI in 2007 may be (and with a 14000 DOW) closer to 20% 3. Of all the players in Maryland, seeing 40% play at the next level. 4. Mr. Williams went by 40%.....once 5. 40% in better health...

Re: Super Bowl poll
The people went nuts after the interception at the party I attended in the Boston area. Manning has a stronger arm. I don't care what Brady's stats said this past year. He made a lot of bad decisions. Maybe it was a year away from the game. There were interceptions where I was asking, "Who were you throwing to? There were three defenders!" Brady is where Manning was several years ago. A questionable defense keeps the team from being championship caliber. I remember the Patriots being as...

Baylor Freshmen Mandel Throws No-Hitter forLarks 6-9-04 By MIKE KESSINGER Hays Daily News Making a good first impression isn't always easy, but Jeff Mandel made it look that way. In his first start with the Hays Larks, Mandel didn't just shut down Elkhart at Larks Park Tuesday night, he threw a no-hitter. The Hays offense did the rest for a 7-0 win. Through seven innings of work, the Baylor University right-hander dusted off the Elkhart hitters, with 10 strikeouts. Mandel (1-0) walked four —...
