Re: 14 Year Old Throwing 85
This may be true about 95-100mph but you certainly can teach velocity. Most colleg guys gain at least 5-10 mph. I have seen 15yo at MLB camps throwing 85. Yes it is uncommon but there are lots of them. I know a couple that dominated at bantam and minor Midget but they tend to not last. A couple of them just had everyone catch up to them. Only a fool wouldn’t want to look to see if he can find improvements to what he does. That’s the main reason I’m looking at it. Another reason is, when someone discusses scoring programs, I don’t like being totally ignorant about what they’re doing. I know that, and its why I’ve been a strong supporter of it. Lookimg for some advice. My son is a 2019 graduate who recently verbally committed to a D1 school. He had numerous offers from lower school that included athletic and academic money. He turned them down to have a chance at playing D1 baseball. The coach did not offer him athletic money stating they just didn’t have any more 2019 money but did give him academic money, basically a preferred walk on. Coach said that if he comes in, works hard then he can earn athletic money his Sophomore year.

Figured i would throw this in there for anyone who hasn't seen it...saw the D1 rankings, but didn't remember seeing the D3. Sons team made the top 5 (D3) so its pretty cool.
