Right. Anyway, there was a complete section about the collegiate leagues at ncaa.org. But, now, it's this. http://www.ncaa.org/wps/portal/!ut/p/kcxml/04_Sj9SPykss..._baseball/index.html Summer Baseball Leagues The NCAA is no longer certifying summer baseball leagues. I remember reading about this change but can't find the information now. It may be just MLB sponsored, now. MLB has funded the NCAA in the past. Not sure about now. Anyone?

And all along I thought the job of a pitcher was to get outs. Velocity is ****. Everybody on here is caught up in becoming a pro or a Top 25 player. Those guys do need velocity. But to be a good high school pitcher you need to throw the ball over the plate. According to the NCAA, only 6.4 percent of high school senior baseball players move on to play college baseball. So what about the other 93.6 percent? http://www.ncaa.org/wps/portal...+-+Prob+of+Competing I know plenty of kids that do not...

New2This, I'm sure InfieldDad will be able to answer your specific question. However, I've found these guides (URL below) to be a tremendous help as well. You get a lot of expert advice here in additon to some backround docs. You can download and view. This covers pretty much everthing from a D1, D2, D3 perspective of do's, don'ts, time tables and definitions. I was constanlty referrring to these when I had questions in addition to posting on this site.

Re: Random drug testing
This an interesting topic as I started to think more about it. Are there two testing entities here? Some posters are saying that the school can test athlete anytime, and NCAA will test only during season. That was not my understanding. This brings up some interesting questions in my mind. I thought the NCAA empowered the school to do the testing. 1)Specifically what is NCAA looking for (assume PEDs). I know my son signed an NCAA form for this, as he mentioned it to me. It was his...

Re: Random drug testing
I had a few minutes after work, so I read through the NCAA Drug Test Program Guidelines and it clarified a lot for me. It validated a lot of what has already been discussed (ie random year round testing, pot, stimulants, roster only, testing at regionals, etc...). I was looking at it from mostly a "privacy" and process perspective than a violation perspective. It was a pretty easy read. I was concerned about the NCAA doing their random testing and then the school doing their random testing,...

Re: Rules on the BBCOR bats
I’m giving you folks a bit of a hard time for a reason. The OP asks: is there an actual rule that the bat has to have a label or whatver stating it is a bbcor bat? Rules are in rule books, but different rule books often have different rules on exactly the same subject. Its nice to see where rules come from, but if you were going to show someone why the NCAA rule about reads as it does, why not show the rule? Illegal Bat SECTION 41. A bat that does not display the BBCOR certification mark, or...

Re: player websites as a recruiting tool?
I can understand Fungo's concerns ... at the end of the day, a college coach or pro scout has to see real talent with their own eyes and base their evaluation upon their own judgement of the player on the field. Nothing in a website will ever replace that. Since I work in the web development business, I come at this from the perspective of how a website can be used to present information in a way that is easy to find. It 'aggregates' what would otherwise be scattered in may different...

Baseball has never been mentioned, it's just about football. Roy assures us basketball is not involved either. I'm an ABCD fan :-). (I've gone soft to be honest. Advice On Transferring After/ During Freshman Year
A little background information on my recruitment. My senior year in 2018 I committed to a private D3. Don't sign a Voluntary Withdrawal Form
This post is prompted by a call I received recently. I understand that an athlete may feel a ton of pressure if they're in an exit meeting with the coaching staff and they are being told something along the lines of "We don't see you ever playing for us and it would be better if you transfer. We'll help with your transfer if you sign this Voluntary Withdrawal Form." However, my advice is to never sign a Voluntary Withdrawal Form if the athlete can handle that pressure - especially if the...
