Poteet only has 2 starting seniors returning.
We have one D1 signee.
We have no pitching or hitting.
We do have some defense.
Our younger guys still can't find the key to the batters box.
But hey we are getting new turf.
And yes before you say anything no one can warm up on it.
We will be lucky to get the fourth spot for the playoffs.
District finish order.
1.Forney
2.Terrell
3.West Mesquite
4.Toss up between Poteet and Mabank.

Would have to agree Beast. Nothing but 2010's and 2011's. Just hope we can sneak in. Lets hear from some Forney, Red Oak, and Mabank folks.

Good grief! Would you Poteeters quit sand-bagging.

The only problem the Pirates will have is trying to get ready for the playoffs. Hope you play a competitive nondistrict schedule.

Doe is one heckuva coach, and I'm sure theres talent in the wings at a program like Poteet. Yall will be fine

HaHa! Terrell and W Mesquite in front of Poteet. That will never happen. Quality programs like Poteet and HP just reload every year.

I think we are playing a pretty tuff schedule.
I think we start out with South Oak Cliff. Then we play Adamson on the road. Then I think we finish up with Mesquite Academy for the Blind and Gifted. I think we are playing double headers so we should get all of our young pitchers a look.
We tried to get a game with HP but I guess there coach forgot to call us back.

Isn't Brett Doe at Poteet? He can pitch and hit and field! Watched him perform successfully all summer!

I would have to agree with LineDrive. There must be some new beachfront property near Mesquite for all the sand being bagged on this thread. Not only do they have Doe, but they should have plenty of help from a stout corps of juniors, including Austin Blount, Jake Sutton and Chris Good, to name a few. Blount was one of the most effective southpaws in the Metro Scout League, and Sutton hit well there, too.

These guys will be playing well into May.

Good luck to them and to those they will face.

right now those are just names on a line up card. its not easy to replace 3 of your top 4 pitchers plus your 3 and 4 holes and still win. will probably start 2 maybe 3 2009's and the rest will be 2010's. will need alot of things to fall our way.

Look, all that matters is you win some, you lose some, and sometimes it rains. Think about that one for a while. By the way, Poteet does not stand a chance against the defensive prowess that is Forney and their errorless baseball.

He is doing great, hates some of it and loves some of it. I guess that is par for the course with the Service Academies. I sure am gonna miss hating Poteet.

Maybe we can catch you in a football playoff game over the next couple of years, that is what I have now, high school football with the baby.

Junior and I were at the McKinney vs. HP playoff game. Should of thrown the ball more to Lipka. The Lions just ran out of time.
I doubt you will see our football team in the playoffs any time soon.(Football coaches don't like athlete's to play more than one sport)

Forney has two high schools now.
I don't think they have any varsity sports yet.

For my first post, I'll predict a last place finish for Poteet this season. We lost alot, but then again, so did everyone else. Maybe we'll stumble into a few.

Poteet has no pitching

no pitching, questionable defense, and weak sticks. not a good combination.

Terrell may suprise some people this year. They have a very realistic shot at a playoff spot.

Yeah but he was just a sophomore then. And that was against S. Gardner. That kid took alot of people deep.

I like the way you think.The district is not as strong as previous years.Team has some talent too.

Forney will be in the mix. Lots of young players. Probably 3 senior starters, 3 juniors and 3 sophs. A very strong junior and soph class.

what's with Chris Good? Thought he was going to be the "ace" for Poteet this year. Last I heard he was throwing in the low to mid 90's with a great breaking/offspeed pitch.

DEFINITELY not low to mid nineties. Hes mid eighties probably, maybe higher sometimes. Still has some mechanical issues to work out I'd say. He should definitely be a factor on the bump, and he has been money at the plate thus far.

looks like terrell and red oak have been playing some good ball. should be a good race. looks like riley will get his first start on the mound since the playoffs. revenge factor?
