Spouter,

Outsider?

It's one thing to portray yourself as some white knight, ridden in to offer all us poor naves insights we're incapable of comprehending.

It's quite another to blatently lie and claim you are an outsider that has not participated in this forum before. Methinks you'll be lacking some credibility over that one. angry

No actually it was symbolic of your position as others circled. I'm so stretched out now that I barely have time to .. well, you know. I check in once in a while but even at my size, I'm too little to get done what I have to get done here.

Take care,
Well ....It sure didnt take spinner too long to spin this thread from a nice little high school baseball tourney into comments about PBR and Top Tier , showcases , scouts and blah blah blah .
Your act has gotten very stale and you cant yank everyones chain on here anymore . Everybody on here has figured that out but you . Give it up already . Go find some 10 year old all americans .

LOL!

Spinner, You and only you could look at that smiley icon and pick out the shark circling. I'm surprised you didn't compare yourself to the one palm tree, standing tall and strong by yourself on that island.

How many times were you dropped on your head as a youngster? Or was that silver spoon that you grew up with in your mouth really lead? That would explain a lot of things.

PLEASE, PLEASE for the sake of your kids and mostly yourself get some help. I'm serious about that, you really have some issues to deal with. I mean who in their right mind would come on a message board with numerous screen names just to insult and question everyone? I post on different message boards, all with the same screen name I use here. When you have numerous screen names on the same message board, well, you are making it so obvious to every person here that only a psychiatrist can help you out. Just make sure every time you go into a therapy session you are consistent and go in as spinner. Or go in as slurve. Or your other screen name everytime.

You're right CPLZ, this is like shootin fish in a barrel.
Guys, maybe you can help me out on this one since there seems to be alot of expertise out there. My son's team did not get chosen for this tournament and he has not been selected for any of the high profile showcases. This oversight may have cost him a college scholarship. Who should we sue? This is just a terrible situation and I don't know what to do. Please help!! Someone has to pay for this injustice!!
OK, lets get back to baseball.

First, PBR or any other organization's ranking only matter as a point of reference. That isn't even well defined since I don't believe that they claim to be the know all of Illinois baseball. I do believe that they make a concerted effort to get info from all over this state. Yet, they wouldn't know about the 6'6" move in we just got who brings it upwards of 93 mphs. (LIE) Most look at these type of rankings as a harmless assessment but also knowing that there is an underlying validity.

Invites to a high school tournament and whether anyone is making $$$? No one's business but the organization and event planners. My team didn't get invited either. Guess what? We'll still play this year. It is a nice gesture for those that did and they should enjoy themselves. We play in a pretty good tournament ourselves. When we first started playing in it, it cost 2 dozen baseballs. Now it cost more. I don't care the cost. I get to play some of the best programs in the state and get to associate with some of the finest coaches I've ever had the pleasure to know. My kids also get looked at by those colleges that show up. Kind of nice.

Spinner, being an advocate for those less fortunate is well enough given that you represent those that need or desire representation. However, that would suppose that you are in some social situation where that injustice denied those people their legal rights. Invitations to those tournaments, participation in them and the rewards of doing so are not a God given right. JMHO!

BTW, I liked the line about how I was fast on the trigger. It'd be the only thing I've been accused of being fast on lately. crazy

This is so funny because I am having this same problem with one of my middle school students who plays on my basketball team. This student lets this one certain other student really get under their skin and provoke them into either a shouting match or shoving contest. This in turn results in all of the rest of the grade level students spreading rumors and gossip to in turn help provoke another useless incident. It’s a nauseating cycle.
I give them the benefit of the doubt because they are 12,13,& 14 yo KIDS. The bad part about this is that I'm fairly certain most of us would consider ourselves role models for our HS & YOUTH BASEBALL PLAYERS. That we continually let ourselves get caught up in petty middle school level rumors and gossip is getting old to keep watching over and over.
I will tell you guys exactly what I told this student: "It makes this other person's day to watch you get worked up and angry. You have more important things to think about than what people are saying or thinking about you."
My suggestion for the rest of the board is when a person such as slurves or spinners or slanges arrives with such useless and obviously reply-provoking posts that we all do the right thing and look away. I know how hard it can be to bite your tongue as I myself am guilty of getting caught up in this one. I VOW NO MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As the famous one has said many times “Lets get back to baseball” I will be working on our pre-season capsule after I post this and plan on starting a pre-season capsule forum when I am finished tonight. These last couple days of nice weather have been great for getting those baseball juices back.

Keep working hard,

Yes games today and tomorrow have been cancelled. Right now the schedule is for Saturday at Alexian to be played as follows.

11:00 AM Schaumburg vs. Grayslake Central
1:00 PM St. Charles North vs. St. Rita
3:00 PM Jacobs vs. Mt. Carmel
5:00 PM Lake Zurich vs. Clemente.

Hopefully the weather works with us. But a very frustrating day today. Sorry.
Ripcord, Ballyall, Play Dog...

Curious if the three of you guys live in the Chicago area? If you do, I am sure you understand that the weather is unpredictable. These days are set several months in advance and there is no way to predict the weather. 2 weeks ago we were all in shorts and t-shirts!

John Sarna has put a ton of work into the Classic, as he does every year. Coaches and players that have participated in the past know what a great event it is.

Too much hype? It's not like the event was cancelled just for the hell of it. It was cancelled because of the "weather", simple. Coaches and administrators were concerned with the safety of the kids. Can you argue with that? There were several other high school, and college, games cancelled over the past several days as well. Why? Because of the "weather", simple.

The Classic "IS" a great event and I don't think there are many people out there that would put the time and effort into it that John does.

So before you start to claim there is too much hype for an event that never happened, please consider the facts and the situation.
