I've seen him with the Canes, but where does he go to school?

The Canes website says he goes to Madison High School. I believe its in Northern Virginia.

I assume that means the Madison in Vienna, then, not the Madison in Madison County.

Correct he is a Warhawk, and plays for Pudge!

Congrats, Connor!

WOW thats awesome to hear. After helping pitch Great Bridge to the state championship, I knew many schools would be after him and its good to hear he's staying in state. Congrats to Connor and his family!

I remember coaching against Connor for a bunch of years when he played with the Virginia Lightining youth travel team. I wish him continued success at UVA.

UVA is getting a very fine young man as well as one heck of a right handed pitcher ! It's been a pleasure watching Connor grow over the years and now realize one of his goals. Well done Connor and congrats to the entire Jones family !!!!

Congrats to Darian Carpenter, Varina H.S. 2013, on making a verbal commitment to VCU.

Carpenter currently plays with RBA West Elite. He hit 2 home runs in East Cobb this week. Scouts tell me they were both unbelievable.

He is also one of the only high school players I know that played this past season with BBCOR (his other bat broke and he already had BBCOR). His bat speed and pure strength is off the charts.

Congrats to Bryce and family! Having watched Bryce play for 4+ years, I can say that he is a great example of a player that works hard, perseveres in the face of difficulty and and handles the spotlight with grace. Lucky ECU!

Side note. I've been watching him throw for a few years but only just recently had the chance to work with him up close to get this footage. I told his father that I mistakenly pegged him as a typical "pitcher only" kind of tall lanky kid. I couldn't have been more wrong. He is a very big, very strong, very athletic kid. Who knows, he may force the UVa staff to keep his bat in the line up if he continues to swing a big bat.
