I appreciate everybodies confidence in DBAT getting to the championship and either winning or having to double dip the other team. However, DBAT has to get by the Hackers first round and the Hackers are a well respected organization. Don't discount the Patriots, they have been playing their best ball of the year of late and I know they have some good pictures that could cause anybody problems.

Diablo, how's the weather in Houston? I hear a lot of rain today and Tomorrow. Any chance the tournament gets pushed back a day or two?

The Hackers have gone downhill every year since the Sliders started up. They have some good kids, but I would be very surprised if they can hang with your crew.

I dunno, dfw, it may be KD that has the pictures...

Are you sure you are talking about baseball and not the corporate world ?? Big Grin

I know what you meant to type, However, I could not resist.

Patriot "pitchers" maybe photogenic, as well as, good "pitchers".
My son plays for the Hackers 18/U Moore/Kurtz. The team beat the Waco Storm Blue, Arlington A's Chase and Arlington A's Allen. The beat the Houston Outlaws, McKinney Marshalls, Farmington Rattlers, KC Monarchs, Rawlings Prospects, Lubbock Monetery Red Hats and. Kyle Chapman and others in tournament games. Oh, and they run-ruled the Dallas Mustangs in their tournament - finishing 2nd to the 18/U Kyle Chapman team in a pretty darn good tournament. I don't think the Hacker program is on the decline. By the way, the Sliders were in the 4th place bracket in the Mustang Classic. About half of the players on the team are 16/U players and if they were to play down to the MM Series, they would be a dominating group. However, the Hacker 16/U team will play as it played in the State Tournament and will pick up, according to rule, 2 players from the tournament. I think they are picking up a couple of mid 80 pitchers. All that being said, it will be a tough tournament. DBAT has a great organization, as do the Heat. I would have to say they are strong favorites

The Hackers fells off a few years back when the man running the program left and started his own organization and basically left with the 16's through the 18's. Basically, it was like starting the program over again and this year's 17/u group is the first intact group that has basically been with the program throughout high school. They will have an incredible 18/U team next year.

Why would they put it at Jesuit. Does anyone think that field is anywhere near top of the line? All the dirt needs to be redone, and that's just a start.

Dtiger,

You got that right. The mound is about like trying to make a mound out of beach sand. The home plate area is a beach basically. Really bad job of trying to make a pitchers mound and home plate area by somebody........IMHO!!

Great turf though.

They're the HOST team for crying out loud! Their league/organization had to bid against others to even get to host this tournament. Were they not going to travel to McKinney next week had they won?

IMHO any team that drops out of a tournament such as this does a disservice to all of the other teams and shouldn't have been there in the first place. Sounds cheesy to me.
