Dont know if anyone saw the news - but he wrecked his knee (ACL) playing basketball.
I just dont understand how pro athletes can do stuff like this.

And I hope he has insurance, because he just voided his contract by playing basketball in the offseason.
Are pro athletes not even allowed to leave the house in the off season? Geez.
What would happen if he jammed his pinky while picking his nose? Void his contract?
He could have stepped off a curb and wrecked his knee, or fell off his 4x4 pickup truck while washing it.

The point is he signed a contract that specifically said he could not play basketball in the off season (as well as other sports I am sure).. Sounds brutal..hardly,, he is getting paid a great deal of money not to shoot hoops and he should have known it was his responsibility if he chose to play..

I have heard that they are talking of making Duncan a First Baseman but this may change their minds.

Duncan will be starting the year in Battle Creek and may get to Tampa before the summer is over.

According to the Atlanta paper, Sheffield has volunteered to play 3rd. He has played over 300 games there.

Other than his homer saving the day in the playoffs, don't think Georgie was too thrilled otherwise with Booney's performance since he was acquired. While on this subject... do colleges do the same thing for HS players that have signed to play for them?
I have heard that a player here in KY who signed to a DIII college to play football and they didn't want him to play anything else. He is playing basketball right now.
