Are pro athletes not even allowed to leave the house in the off season? Geez.

What would happen if he jammed his pinky while picking his nose? Void his contract?

He could have stepped off a curb and wrecked his knee, or fell off his 4x4 pickup truck while washing it. Big Grin

The point is he signed a contract that specifically said he could not play basketball in the off season (as well as other sports I am sure).. Sounds brutal..hardly,, he is getting paid a great deal of money not to shoot hoops and he should have known it was his responsibility if he chose to play..

Hard lesson to learn

$5.75M!!! In a couple of years he could play basketball dawn to dusk! What an idiot!
It is a BUSINESS he has contractual obligations he does stand the risk of losing that money.

Hey maybe Duncan could ... never mind, too soon but I bet he gets a look from them in a couple of years. Saw him play in HS and in minors...this kid is the real deal.

Conserve fuel...starve a terrorist!
Duncan will be starting the year in Battle Creek and may get to Tampa before the summer is over.

The only problem with Henson is he hasn't gotten enough at bats, less than 500. The boss wanted him up asap and not let him mature first.

Only Mussina can play hoops and only for three weeks in Dec. and only in his own gym at home.

Glove, The player's can't do motorcycle or automobile racing, hanggliding, fencing, parachuting, skydiving, boxing, wrestling, karate, judo, football, basketball, skiing, hockey or any other sport or activity involving a substantial risk of personal injury. Smile
And there's another one.....John Wander Wal - torn ACL - while shoveling snow over the weekend.

Apparently Boone does have a No Basketball Playing clause....JVW probably doesn't have a No Shoveling Snow clause, though.

From 'Nice Guys Finish Last' by Leo Durocher:

Baseball lives at the center of a never-flagging whirl of irreconcilable opinions.
Other than his homer saving the day in the playoffs, don't think Georgie was too thrilled otherwise with Booney's performance since he was acquired. With this injury, don't think Aaron will ever wear the pinstripes again. I can't believe what the guy was thinking. I can't believe he's one of my beloved Trojans pull_hair I can't believe he's blown nearly 6 mill.

The yanks will figure out a replacement, they always do, but I don't think it's Drew Henson. Ultimately I think Drew will take the Josh Booty road back to football.
Just saw on ESPN site that Drew Hensen is negotiating a buy out of his yankee contract and so he can return to football.

Yet another who's found it's easier to get hit by a lineman than hit a deuce.

Maybe Boone's spot will be there for him. Looks more like Adrian Beltre to the Yanks or I've heard rumors of the latest blockbuster bringing A-Rod to the Bronx.

come on Georgie. You've been too quiet this offseason.
THere is another possibility ..don't know but neither do you..

The anterior cruciate can be partially torn years before and be asymptomatic. The sport or activity that finally gets the job finished often is not the one that started it. It could have been a JV football games years before. He could have been shooting a jump shot with nobody near him..playing horse. If it was previously injured and about to go it would have gone playing baseball too. Have a heart
