Wise,
What was the coaches thinking behind doubling up on Moynihan and Morimando ? They had both received their recognition on the first team ... Moynihan Twice on first team and Morimando again on second team ? Just curious ? Seems like two other young men could have been honored instead of doubling up on Moynihan and Morimando. Oh.... and before anyone wants to get froggy... I beleive these two, along with Cook were the most deserving in the District this year !

I wondered the same thing driller. Why double up a spot and not recognize another talented young player? Moynihan had one heck of a year on the mound. Morimando had a good year, but his name carried him as well IMHO. He didn't lead his own team in hitting or victories. Not knocking the kid, just facts and he still had a good year. And beach leaders for batting (which coaches always use to separate these guys) were the dh kid, 3b Tomchick?SP?, and Sandifer...I'd say they all were very deserving.

Seems a bit dumb to win at multiple positions, similar to having 2 Shortstops, thats a pretty crowded left side.
also 2nd team has 2 first basemen and no dh...
reminds me of that bugs bunny cartoon!
Its pretty easy to see how the stats get so inflated, apparently they are not even sure how many players are supposed to be on the field.
just having a little fun with this guys no need to crucify me.
I didn't mentioned the players name for no errors In DISTRICT games cause thay wasn't the point, the point was asked if they used just batting averages or batting and defense, if you want the kids name, then PM me and Ill be glad to give it to you, however, i am not the scorekeeper, there were 3 balls, 1 hit a sprinker head, the other 2 bad hops off infield lips that hit him in the collar bone and head, this year, this isn't a dad just trying to push his son, its just facts, and Beach Family, thats not exerrated, I think Mordihan? Kellam is most deserving, he was outstanding, But I would put Lemasters on 1st team with that group, 4 pitchers, why not, they were 4 teams tied for 1st going into the last game, and Kellam, a job well done, I think all Beach teams have to step in up the next 2 years to keep pace with Kellam.

Thats worth honorable mention pilot put it out there for everyone , but if you tell me this player is on FC ,I'll have to laugh and say in you "DADDY" dreams
Hey Raysfan, did you watch every FC district game? I sure did, Daddy Dreams, bush league, as Redbird put it, this place is not to bash players or have dads talk about their own kids, I do not do that, nor have i ever posted anything to that effect, I have praised many players from all teams, I just stated a fact on defense. this topic is closed, lets move on, Im anxious to see how Salem deveoples over the summer, they have some arms, It was an exciting year, maybe we didn't see the best baseball, lol, but all teams competed.
Congrats to your son making first team, he very much deserved it. However your comments about not promoting your son are very entertaining to say the least. All anyone has to do is read your posts from the last two years. At least this year you didn't have to refer to all the coaches in the Beach District as "Idiots". As far as error free infielders I'm glad you are finally remembering a few errors and don't forget about throwing errors too.

Don't get upset wally ,I'm sure you just forgot about a few of the errors . PM me and I'll remind you of a few if you want .
This is a great comedy show.
However, back to the list......
In my opinion - the list is bogus - period. The list is made up with who the coaches want on the list or maybe who they promised would be on the list.
You can't be first team - if you make more than 10 errors at a position - I don't care if you bat 1.000. You could sure fill up the DH position if those are your numbers!
You can't be first team - outfield if you play infield or infield if you play outfield or for that matter first team 2b if you play ss all year.
You can't be first team - if you are not well-rounded on offense and defense unless you are a pitcher only. If you hit in the .200 range, you don't belong there......I don't care what stats are brought to the table.
Of course this is my opinion - I love all the kids, but sometimes, I think this list gets out of control!

Billy,
This is an age old topic. There has to be a better way to recognize those players that are deserving. It always seems that some kids are on the list based on PT other than high school.
Just a thought....Make it a fundraiser. Donate $20 at a table at the District games and the donation gets one ballot to fill out. At least the results are just what they are.... Buy your vote, but think of all the money that could go to a good cause.
Everybody says it means nothing. Go to any of the college rosters and you will find all of those honors listed in the player's bio.
How many kids are not on the list because their team doesn't win? Is there an official scorebook that has to be turned into the director after each game? Does the director of Beach Baseball have the statistics compiled based on a payed scorekeeper? There is the answer. You wouldn't even need a coaches meeting. The director has the stats and can make the list directly from the stats. That would eliminate all of the examples that Billy has described.

You forgot to sing your post Mrs. Metheny..(from Norman)
Well that was fun to watch (read). I think the coaches do a pretty good job overall. Like any "all-star" team, someone always gets snubbed. I think its more important to remember these are awards and accolades for the kids. Parents, you're not getting drafted. Be proud, remain humble.
Is this the official list? I dont recognize some of these names?? And I remember alot of upsets this season! Who led in homeruns and RBI's? Who had the lowest ERA and most strikeouts?Who was the most consistent player ALL season? Those are the stats that get a player on the list. I think this year was the most lop-sided list than ever. I agree will saipan...The list is out of control!!

Curious to know what makes the list lop-sided to you no way? There are names I don't recognize either. That tells me they just didn't go with names for a change. I do disagree with them placing people on both the 1st and 2nd team as well as listing a player in more than one position on same team. And this is official list but I still haven't seen it anywhere but on this site. That seems strange to me.
If you read the newspaper you would find highlights of who made gamewinning plays or the only game hit or run scored....And putting a player as all beach cuz they played third once in a while didnt make them all beach at that position. Get real! and putting a player in 2 positions on 1st team is a waste. Esp. if they were eliminated in first round of tournament...doesnt seem right to me.
and I used third base as an example....there are several positions people were just assigned due to other positions being taken.
definitely agree with 2 positions on 1st team as a waste. Tournament results shouldn't come into play, based on the regular season. Meeting was just delayed this year. That they use UT and DH to recoginize deserving players is good but counter-productive to what they are trying to do when they place 1 person in multiple slots or both teams (1st/2nd). Fun to talk about though. lol
The All Beach Team is listed in today's Virginian Pilot. It matches that shown in posts of NoWay and Wiseball19 with the exception of 2 additions to the second team. Schwanke is listed as an additional SS on the second team and Tharp is listed as a both a second team firstbaseman and as a second team DH.
just read that myself in the morning paper. wonder what made them do it that way (players on both teams)
