I would like to thank everyone for voting me Coach of the Year. I am so blessed and excited to recive such an award by this panel.
I plan on receiving this award in Colorado at the end of the tournament. DBAT GM I wish you would be around to present it to me but I am sure your train left days before the tournament ended.
I won't get started on the cheerleader (OBN) comment but I like it!!!
quote:Congratulations OPson! And congrats OP on your NCOY selection.
Thank you, thank you! I am honored and blessed just to get a mention for this prestigious award. I just hope I don't have the sophomore jinx next year!! That would be a pity.
Thanks Cheapseats, I resemble that remark, now if I could only fit into those old cheer skirts of mine I would be "Golden"......
Actually though, I think I should protest as I qualify more for "LF" as I am usually there on most topics till someone gets me back on topic.
Congrats Train on your Coach of the Year honors............

...a destinked honor.
You already ate all the DingDongs, Doc?
You already ate all the DingDongs, Doc?
DingDongs are still available but the chicken wangs are history. BTW Train that was classic mentioning a vote....you were named son ~ named. Apologies to Ken Guthrie for the late addition but F.O. could never catch all 5 innings by himself. Back at cha.
I doubt that Rumler would have been able to get anywhere near the plate, if I had been in the baseline.......
Defensive Player of the Year ~
I didn't even know there was a forum team.
Just goes to prove, "You Never Know Who's Watching".
On another note, Yea to Lackie (not Lackey, Lacky) and to McK North. I'm so happy for these guys and all the others that I don't know! What a great honor for these boys! Way to go.
Once again to quote the great FO ~ "Fun, ain't it!"

I'm not really allowed to devulge the entire process but Def POY award came as a result of your always caring heart that goes out to the posters that might be getting a little heat from others concerning their opinions. How's that for a run on sentence? BTW schools out today ~ don't expect me to keep up the proper grammer during the summer.

Some might argue that decision with you and your committee.

Me too, either!
Second Team selections were announced today but will not be posted until Monday. 88 phone calls from parents of posters that felt their off spring was deserving. Might have to have a third team as well and if you're not mentioned, feel free to claim Honorable Mention.
I want to thank all my teammates for this honor. Thanks to the great defense and the great run support I have been given this year.
So does this mean I am entitled to a "full ride?!?"
So does this mean I am entitled to a "full ride?!?"
Keep pitchin, you're close
Oh, and to my coach...Coach Train...just give me the ball and you will have no worries!!! You are the coach, it is your call, 1 game, or 2 out of 3. To me, it doesn't matter. I know what's coming, the hitter don't. I'm on higher ground firing the projectile at a person standing still with a stick!
I have the edge! You want me on that wall, you need me on that wall!!! Let's play some ball!!!

...and don't worry FD, I've got your back.

It appears there is heavy Yellowjacket bias this year!
A side comment -- seems to me that Train should have won the most "Offensive" award -- that is, before his recent mellowing.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. There's always gonna be second guessing from the masses. Weren't you a first teamer? Get back in the back seat and shut up!
I agree, doc, as the 1st team Bat Boy, I have noticed PD's bat lacking the pop of some of the other 1st teamers.

I would say most improved; With that said. Everybody has improved since P-diddy became the
new Judge/Jury and executioner in town.
But then again in fear of loosing my privelege to post. I will agree P-Dad; Award him the most "Offensive"..
Yes! Most offensive POTY... , then I don't have to request a trade due to coaching philosophies.
PD...my recent mellowing?? Do you really want some more? I will take any award I can get
I need to be a "good boy" so I can last the summer with some newDadsplayers ....BUT look out for next year....
The one thing I know for sure is our TIGERS are great.
Signed,
The Mellow TRAIN

ChangeUp has been named to the Honorable Mention catagory. Note: Please have your relatives stop calling my office to state your case...........I'm almost done with the crossword today.
quote:Apologies to Ken Guthrie for the late addition but F.O. could never catch all 5 innings by himself.
No apologies needed.
I was invited to play on a "premier" team so I it really didn't bother me if I was left off the list.
Waiting patiently for my AC invite.
Gut you are bypassing an AC invite and straight to the AFLAC games.
I actually got your name off an old Rowlett Baseball Association "Who's Who" and thought you sounded deserving. You had scored a 10 out of 10 even though they were shooting tennis balls at you in the gym out of a jugs machine..Very impressive to say the least. Good luck at AC as well as AFLAC and Go Knights
KG - If you need a ride, let me know.
Lynn, no second guessing Linty and me. We need you back out there so we can all second guess Ray your buddie. Finally met KD on yesterday.
I heard about Ray going crazy 2 weeks ago in an 11 year old tourney in Houston. I guess things change but stay the same.
swing doc, bat boy of the year.....geez why dont we just call me T-bone
And i feel like Ben
Both of you fine young men are deserving..Congratulations ~
District 9-4A:
MVP: Michael Reed (McK North)
Pitcher: Trent Appleby (McK North)
Offensive MVP: Nico Taylor (McK North)
Congrats to the superlative winners and All-District winners!

JABO,
I put a PM out there for you.
And, the swingdoc protege, Roger Kieschick, received the All-American superlative.
Super.

Kiesch never brags and keeps that to himself. Thanks for letting me know. I haven't been to the site since the season ended. I as well as you should be pretty proud of those young men out there where the wind blows. Thanks F.O.
There's still one MNer in the hunt and I'm getting my T-Shirt ready for the trip to Nebraska.

The three hole is drafted in the fourth for his bat and the five hole is an All-American.
That is what I call being surrounded by good people..............
That is what I call being surrounded by good people..............
I agree completely....In HS sometimes a kid bats 8th or 9th and lights it up his junior year and then there's a huge fall off when placed in those 3 spots. Got to have bread on both sides of that butter. Congrtas to the 3 hole and 5 hole as well. They earned everything they got. Whats next? You going to Omaha to scout? Let me know.
Not going to Omaha........this year.....
Was up in the Denton area for lunch today and happened to grab a Denton paper...they printed the 5-5A all district selections
