Bamboo Bats

Thought I'd try some bamboo this year for my team. I want to recommend the bats made by Dave Vendur of 5-for-5 Bat Co. in Florida. They just arrived and they are beautiful, rod-straight, definitely hand-crafted to perfection. His prices are very good (and exceptional when ordering 6 or more, which I did).

Dave's customer service was impeccable. He answered every question I had on his bats, and the bats lived up to everything I was hoping for.

Have been around long enough that I hope this won't be seen as a gratuitous unpaid promo. Knowing people are looking for options and reasonable pricing, I wanted to give this info to all of you if you're interested in getting in touch with Mr. Vendur.

Hey, it's all about the craftsmanship and the "Made in the USA" mantra. The Koreans turn out inferior product and, if they can afford it, they'll buy Mizuno from next door despite the massive duty mark-ups.

This year my Falcons will only swing aluminum in games. They will swing 33" and 34" bamboo for everything else -- and probably will tell them they have to use it when we play the other two US mil teams here on the peninsula. Hopefully it will reduce our win differentials from things like 24-2, to 18-2 or something more reasonable. Mad

spd, we've got a new kid over here this year who played at Annandale HS. I think he was more of a wrestler, but any kid who made a roster at a big school like that will surely bring some skills to our squad. Looking forward to seeing what he's got.

Hey Krak -- Annandale has produced some pretty good ball players. I hope your boy does both the Falcons and the Northern Virginia Region proud.

TS -- Here on the outskirts of DC we have to import both our Bamboo and our Wheat ... but we have all the BS and Hot Air you can handle. We wish we could ship a lot of it back to the States and Congressional Districts it comes from. You know "share the wealth." Smile

Thanks for the info on 5 for 5. We just received an e-mail that they will be at son's tryout/winter camp this weekend. They are running a good special, so it's probably a good time to stock up for the summer. If anyone is going to be at Orlando Scorpion winter camp this weekend, let me know. My husband will be taking son Saturday, and I'll bring him Sunday. Would love to say hello.
