Son's school in PA just canceled all spring break athletic trips to FL over spring break. Precautionary, but boy are the kids disappointed. They needed that work too, the start to this season should be interesting.

There is another thread, were D3 colloeges are doing the same. Most of those were eastern schools traveling West.
Here in NC, a couple of schools I know of have cancelled planned overnights for weekend games in towns about 2 1/2 hrs away. (Not my kid's school.) Instead they will drive in Friday, play, drive home, then drive back again on Saturday.
There may come a time when we're forced into drastic measures, but for now that seems like a serious overreaction.
Panic or being proactive, kinda hard to draw a line. China's suspect numbers are still very frightening and if those numbers come our way it would be a major catastrophy with our current state of preparedness. US can not close cities. Hopefully we can buy time until therapeutics become available.

Better safe than sorry. The communication failures are at multiple levels of the government.

There is no indication that anyone in Florida that has the virus is from the younger generation. You will find that most who are ill, have traveled overseas or have been on a cruise.
