I have an 8th grader. This will be his 5th year of travel ball. He's getting to the point where he needs to find out how far he can go with baseball and this site is a great resource. He already has the "How to make the HS team" list taped to his bedroom door.
I have one playing college (20 yr. old MI) and a U13 Lefty.
It's a push and pull (mentally) situation. I want him (U13) to be at the real BB playing age in HS and recruiting stage, but I don't want him to grow up to fast as well.
And......I am enjoying every minute with them both as they progress in the different age groups of their life and BB career.

....you teach me baseball and I'll teach you relativity...No we must not, You will learn about relativity faster than I learn baseball. --Albert Einstein
I too have one of both. I have one in college (20 yr old) and a 12 year old 7th grader.
It wasn't until he started playing that I realized the younger one really did pick up a few things all those years he was a bat boy. Amazing as for many years his favorite part was shaking hands at the end of the game.
Boomer Callaway Age - 10 Height - 5' Weight - 110 lbs. Bats - Right (Rotational) Throws - Left Position - P, 1B Favorite Player - 20 year old brother Connor, playing college ball.
I have a 12 y.o. who has played AABC. Last year the team he was on "disbanded" and was left without a team to play on. Since I have two other boys that play H.S. ball he practiced with the Summer League H.S. team. He learned a lot and probably will play on a middle school team this year.
I've got a 12 year old son, James, who hopes to follow in the footsteps of his two older brothers. So far, so good. For you CA guys, maybe we will see you sometime in Las Vegas or Palm Springs (Scottsdale Storm). It's great fun, that's for sure.
Yes Indeed...Greg Ziegeler (LHP/LHH), 13yr old (Nov 03), 8th Grader. Just got back from the Goodwill Series games in Australia 14U Team, what a great experience! Kid really loves the game and has goals to play D1 baseball.
I have a Senior in High School and an eighth grader(14U). The High Schooler plays baseball but also has many other interests, including trout fishing and the drums. Will attend Cornell University in the fall. The eighth grader is a hard core baseball player who has played travel ball since he was ten. Loves the game and has “Plans” to go a lot further. He is about 5’5” and 115 pounds. Hopefully will catch up to his brother who is 6’2” and 175 pounds.
In reference to Ziggy and specifically his son, Greg Ziegeler, I can attest to his pitching abilities.
My son Adam Pendleton (13 yo, 7th grader, 5' 4" 145 lbs) caught for Greg in Australia and he is a very excellent lefty. Good composure on the mound, great velocity, and can place the pitch where it is called.
He will develop into a very awesome high school pitcher, and beyond.
Many Thanks Backstop-17 for the kind words, Greg really respected how Adam managed the hitters and made all the right plays. In fact he wishes he was here in CA, as we haven't seen a kid yet who can match Adam's talent. Are you guys going back to Australia next Year?
