Hi all, what pregame routine you use for infield to make sure the infielders are getting about 10-12 ground balls and the catcher is getting 4-5 throw downs to second and third?  Right now mine get about 7 each but would prefer around 10-12.  When and how do you incorporate the the throw downs with the catcher?

R1 - infield in go home (1)

R2 - 1B (2)

R3 - Turn two (2)

R4 - Go home (2)

Son's school does catcher throw downs as part of round the horn before fungos.

Coach throws to catcher to start each round.

2-5-3-4-6-2

2-4-3-5-6-2

2-6-5-3-4-2

2-6-4-3-5-2

2-1-5-6-4-2

2-1-4-6-5-2

There are a couple more rounds with 6-1 and 1-6, I just don't remember the cycle.

If all throws are good this gets done really quick.

During fungo, catcher fields bunts and throws to each base once, positions get about 4-6 depending on time. So can't help you there. Infields mostly throw to 1st or 2nd (to turn 2). Their throws to home are covered when outfield gets their fungo.

4-6 and 6-4 seem odd unless not on the bag.  And 6-2, 4-2 seem strange usually want the ball at 5 or 3 then coming in.

My son's HS sophomore year they had an amazing home pre game infield routine - I wished someone had video. It was complicated and fast - it's doubtful the coach invented it (he was let go that year after going 3 rounds deep in playoffs), but ended with outfield making their throws and running to third base. The third baseman made his last throw, and he and the outfielders starting walking toward short, the shortstop makes his last throw and joins the team walking toward 2B, the 2B, 1ST and the catcher all make their last throws as continue the deliberate fluid march toward the first base dugout.  I guess you could say it was choreographed, but it was smooth, controlled and impressive. Best pregame warmup I've ver seen...

First base covered with bunt practice when doing OF to bases. LF home, third base cuts to home and catcher goes to two.  RF home, first cuts to home and catcher goes to third.  Coming home warm up (1st, 2nd, SS, 3rd) back to two or called base. Ball goes reverse order around the field back to home.

I think this is a moot point. Starting catcher is in the bullpen with the pitcher getting the pitcher warmed up. He doesn't get to practice throw downs.
