I guess we can count our situation as a blessing in disguise. A local coach of a well respected travel team who is also a scout was at my son's HS tryouts and couldn't believe he was cut while others were kept. Without a tryout since he has already seen him in action more than once my son is on a great summer team. He is 16 years old with half the team already playing for colleges on scholarship with many past players currently playing in the majors. Many great tournaments with heavy college coach and MLB scouting attendance is on the books. Thank goodness because our school's varsity team is already 1-3 with very ugly losses and the only win by a small margin against one of the worst teams in our division. I feel really bad for the players on the team having to weather this record but feel my son is lucky not to be a part of it this year. Maybe good things do happen to good kids after all!

Well.......by playing on this super duper awesome team in the summer your son will either prove the coach wrong or he will justify the decision.
TR I guess the coach won't have to worry about this guy coming out next year. Why should he? With an option like he now has and the team being so bad.

Can you imagine this parent sitting in the stands at the games if he had made the team? Can you imagine this parent in the stands if Jr was not playing?

Coach def cut the right parent.
Coach May without a doubt the right parent was cut. In fact I haven't really kept up with this thread after reading about two or three posts. I knew it wasn't really going anywhere but thought I would scan over the last two pages to see where it went. That struck me as funny how this kid can't make his high school team but he's playing on the greatest team ever formed in the summer. Definately issues / red flags all over the place.

Coach May I'm going to send you a PM with a funny story I heard today about a parent who talks a little too much.
