We've played 2 of the best teams in the country and have done well.
Also, we've had 3 kids go yard already.

We had our first game on Saturday. Boomer pitched 2 shutout innings and launched a 3 run HR his first at bat.

Great news Callaway! He's a 12 year old right? From what I remember I think he's two years younger than my son. I bet he (and dad) were excited after that shot.

What games? All we've had is rain, mud, and more rain. Expected to be rained out again this weekend. Son is getting tired of all the bp, workouts and bullpen. I even think I saw him starting to twitch.

We had our first outdoor practice this past Sunday.... 42 degrees with a wind chill bringing it down to 30 
We have a scrimmage next Saturday and we open our season on the 25th.... hope the snow holds off

I hear ya Cong!!! I took my son out to do some fielding on a field and it was a quagmire from the freshly melted snow. Luckily our first game (touney) isn't till 4/7 so we've got some time yet....hopefully!
We've had 3 indoor scrimmages and have another one sunday. The kids looked ok, my son's still a little wild and we need to start swinging the bats a little better! We went outside today for about the 6th time this year for some bp and fly ball practice. So nice and sunny today for northern Ohio! We were out there and I was just loving the sun and the sound of the baseball coming off the bat...
Weather is beautiful and played in 4 double dips and 2 tourneys.(10 yr old travel) team is 8 and 4. son is doing great and loves his new bat.

Kent State Field House, Brownlee's, Buckeye Baseball and Sunday back to Kent State.
I've never been in the KSU fieldhouse. How is it?
They split the field in half with each half being about the size of Brownlee's. We had one side and a girls softball team had the other. We also had use of two of the four batting cages. The ceiling is pretty high!

Callaway, my parents and one of my brothers live in Cross Hill,(close to Greenville) are you guys going to Virginia Beach this summer? If not I might have to get in touch and catch one of your games when I'm in your area, I have a 12 yr old and we love baseball.

My boy had his first practice yesterday in the cold wind. Today there are 4 inches of brand new snow on the ground. Oh well, he still has at least 5 more basketball games to go. Where art thou spring?

We'd LOVE to move south. We even had our house on the market with the intent on doing that at the end of last summer but it just didn't work out. Sadly I just got an email from a potential employer in Nashville asking about my status.
We spent a week in Orlando with Mickey & Minnie a few weeks ago and it was mid-70's. We came home to single digits. The moving thing isn't over yet, but the night we returned from Orlando my mom suffered a ruptured brain aneurism. Luckily she survived but she's in bad shape. That may have permanantly put the move on hold. We hate the cold!!!!
Brandon is coming along well. We've been working on some lower body stuff and just started dialing it back up this week to get ready for the season. He's rusty but still throwing hard. He turned 14 in January. He'll play on the "real" field this year. It should be fun.

RB, 12u AAU first week of August. Manchester A's, I suppose you'll be in that. Hopefully we'll play well and who knows, maybe we'll get to play you guys. What was the name of your team?
We started off the season 5-1 playing up at 13AAA. We lost to a very good AAA team 2-1. On the bigger fields 275-290 we have hit 1 homerun

Innocent & Bandito: Innocent, which AAU qualifier are you guys going to? Bandito, are you guys planning on the Elite 24 again or the AAU? It is a shame they are the same week this year for those that have done both last year.

I think it's going to be a FUN season! We had our second game last night and Boomer started on the mound and pitched two innings. He faced 6 batters, had 4 K's and 2 pop outs. He went 3 for 3 with ANOTHER HR!! Yes!
Whatever! Sounds more like fun for you guys and not so much fun for whoever you happen to be playing. Looks like someones hard work is paying off! Nice job dad!
Innocent, unless you finished in the top 8 the previous tourney I think you have to qualify starting either last year or this year as U12's for AAU.

I guess I'm allowed to answer your question to Eric G, his son is one of the big boppers on the Columbus team. 
Finally! We got a game in no thanks to Mother Nature. Freezing cold, and one delay in the 4th, we got er done. We lost 9-7 but the kids were excited they finally got to play. My son went way deep 
and got to pitch to only 2 batters, walking one (since he didn't warm up, whole other story) and struck out one. Looks like it might be a good year here up in NorCal!

Just wondering... What do the people in NorCal call freezing cold? 30? 40? 50? Congrats! Sounds like fun! 12 yr old? We have our first team outdoor practice today if the rain holds off. My son and I have been outside 7-8 times already.
Hey Redbird, as Innocent said, The Columbus Sharks. I did not know if you were Virginia Wildcats North or not. Man, that Battle in the South is going to be a high profile tourney, huh!? We have never been to one of these high profile ones excpet for AAU Nationals, it should be a wild one I must say, at least I hope!
Innocent, I dunno, do you condsider 5'7" and 185lbs a Big Bopper??? Well, maybe, LOL If that is the case then we have a few of them, ha ha.
By Big Bopper I was referring to how far he hits the ball! With that kind of size he definitely has an UNFAIR advantage on my son!(5'3 105)

We had beautiful sunny weather this past Saturday for our first scrimmage… highs in the 60’s…. This was only the second time we have been outside this season. Each team did the usual early scrimmage rotation, a new pitcher each inning and batting the entire lineup.
Our boys played almost flawless defense, but we didn’t do much hitting. Managed just 5 hits in 7 innings…. Happy to say my son was 2 for 3 . No way you are going to win that way….. Some of our pitchers, who may not have pitched on the big diamond before, had some control problems, but nothing that a little more seasoning won’t help.
It was just so great to be outside, but wouldn’t you know it, the rains came and washed us out for a much needed Sunday practice. We have another scrimmage this Saturday and then our season opens on the 25th.
