Glenbard North Billy Boockford and Benets Mick Doyle combine 4-8 with a couple walks and 6 runs scored for the Irish..

Congrats to Ian Tomkins (Loyola Academy) on winning the starting catching job at Wake Forest. Ian went 3 for 4 , 2 runs scored and an RBI yesterday in a 13-9 win over Pepperdine.

DGS Phillip Wunderlich is hitting in the 5 hole at U of Louisville. Yesterday in a win he was 1 for 4 with 2 RBIs and a run scored.

Aaron Conway, Triad High School, is off to a great start at Missouri State. Here is an excerpt from their press release yesterday:

"Leadoff man Aaron Conway put the Bears on the board in the first, opening the game with an infield single to second, then stealing second and scoring on a ground out by Keane. Conway finished the game with three hits and two stolen bases."

Congrats to Ralphy Garcia Clemente, Going 4 for 10 over the weekend against Tulane. Played solid defense as well.400 batting avg. in his debut at UIC.

Congrats to Seth Blair,

Debut at Arizona State yesterday. 11-0 against Oregon State. 4 IP, 3 hits no runs , first victory .

Looks like Blair will be counted on heavily considering the academic issues that have DQ'd two incumbent starters. Opportunity comes in all manners, here's hoping Seth continues his good fortune with his.

Andrew Wiese, from Waterloo High School, hit his first collegiate home run Sunday. Southeast Missouri State beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 15-2 I believe. Wiese had two RBIs and two hits in the game.

Rodeghero posted a .727 batting average and .813 on-base percentage in leading the Crusaders to a series victory over Austin Peay. He had eight hits including two doubles, scored six runs and drove in three during the three-game set. The fifth-year senior tied a career high with four hits in a 4-for-5 effort in the series finale, following a three-hit performance in the nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader.

Peter Tountas--former Maine South Hawk--is the starting shortstop for Evansville. He is struggling at the plate currently, but is playing solid defense.

Ryan Faidley from Crystal Lake South goes 3-5 yesterday playing for Eastern Kentucky defeating Bradley.

Congratulations to Kevin Hoef (Triad HS) who was named to the 2008 Music City Classic All-Tournament team. Kevin went 5-13 and stole 2 bases while also playing SS for the University of Iowa. During this tournament, the U of Iowa pulled off a major upset beating then #5 ranked Vanderbilt.

Ty Wiesemeyer (Triad)is hitting .429 with 1 hr and 15 rbi's for Heartland CC.

Tyler Bullock (DuQuoin) is hitting .289 with a HR and 12 rbi's at SIU.

Tyler Choate (Carmi)is at .333 with 3 rbi's at SIU.

Tom Catomer (Prospect HS alumni) pitches for Grand Canyon university in Phoenix. Named pitcher of the week last week. Throws 93, scouts have been circling the wagon. It took Tom a bit to get straightened out, but he is coming on! His older brother Joey was a 39th round draft choice (Cubs)out of Prospect but arm problems ended his career.

Tyler Ladendorf (Maine West) is off to a nice start at Howard Junior College in Big Spring Tx. Hitting .604, 8 double, 8 home runs and 31rbi.

Raffy Garcia, Clemente HS and UIC SS is battling around the .300 mark and picken it I am sure. Also Congrats to Devon Melecio on his first NCAA hit, also at UIC.

We are in Puerto Rico playing during spring break. Trying to get ready for the season.

Josh Weaver (East Leyden HS)at Wheaton College started off the season well. He was just named CCIW pitcher of the week. He's 2-0 with a save and has an ERA of 1.2. He's hit 92 MPH and has 24 K's in 15 innings. He's also hitting well at .420 with 3 hrs and 12 RBI.

Marvin is making the adjustment just fine, and I have heard nothing but very positive things about him.

Peurto Rico?? Sounds rough.. Have fun, be safe and stay out of trouble. Alright, Have fun amd be safe.

We have a doubleheader today @ 1:00. We are improving with each game....which is the plan. Just want to be a better team when we leave.

I am happy to see all of the boys doing so well. I think the most important stat of all is missing. Any stats on their GPA's?

Kyler Laurie (Burlington Central) is 1-0 with a 1.23 ERA in 7 1/3 IP for Loras College and I'm sure his GPA is much higher than his ERA...
