Dan Brewer (LT) drove in 4 today, a 3 run homer and then the game winner a couple innings later for a Bradley winner.

Who's GPA are you inquiring about?

I am inquiring about all of the boys. They all have an awesome opportunity to attend some great schools. Very few will go on to the pros but they can now set themselves up for life by hitting the books. It would be nice to see them do equally as well on the field and in the classroom.

That's a little like asking how much their fathers make. I don't know that it's any of our business.

Our GPA is higher than required....and it will remain that way. If you do not have the grades, YOU WILL NOT PLAY! NO EXCEPTIONS. And I do not care if it's my best player.

I more than likely will take a hit to change the mind set, but so be it. It's not just about baseball.

Time to pack and come back to the wonderful weather in Chicago.

Ian is at Missouri.

Kevin Manson (Maine South) is now 2-0. He is averaging nearly a strikeout per inning so far this season.

Patrick Keating improved to 3-0 today after getting the win over Ole Miss.

Glad to see alot of the kids at some of the out of state schools doing so well and getting playing time early. Their success can only lead to more out of state and bigger schools coming to Illinois to see guys and recreut from here more. Louisville is a top 25 program and to see a freshman get in the lineup that quick is impressive (Wunderlich), same at Wake Forest (Tompkins). Powers continues to rake for one of the better schools out there, and don't forget about Bates at N.C, he's healthy and dealing. Brase is at Charleston Southern getting innings and McMurry is also starting as a freshman. It takes more than just talent to start and survive at a big school that's so far from home. Most kids would be intimidated.

One of my favorite baseball moments was watching Dan hit an bomb on field one at the East Cobb complex 3 or 4 years ago. Hit it over everything onto the parking lot. Now, doing it for Bradley.

Grant Monroe in the starting rotation for Duke with 4 wins and an ERA of just over 3.00

Ian Goldberg leading off and just crushing the ball for Tufts. Averaging almost 2 RBI per game.

Dain Hall leading off, playing 3rd base and hitting .400 for Villanova.

Gotta mention Ian Berger of Mizzou (OPRF 05).

Wow!!!

He has a 3-0 record with a .30 ERA.

In the Big 12.

At 18-2 the Tigers are 1 of the best teams in the country.

Congrats to St Rita Alum 3b Sean Estand in hitting his first career HR this week. Sean is a Freshman at EIU and is hitting at a 325 clip this yr.

Joe Huenecke from Palatine High School pitching for Glendale Community in Arizona 2-0 21 inninings are at 2.57.

Dan Brewer goes 4 for 5 in 2 games with NIU yesterday including another 3 run homer. Named mvc player of the week.

Freshman left fielder Casey McMurray went 4-for-5 with a double, an RBI and three runs - his first career four-hit game for the Fighting Illini

Patrick Keating goes to 4-0 with a complete game 7-1 win over LSU. He lowered his era to 2.40.

My bad. Harrisburg HS class of 05. Currently at Florida. He has now beat Miami, Ole Miss, Auburn and LSU. Not a bad run so far. Keating link

Jake Goebbert from Hampshire Hs is hitting 394 with 4hr, 10 2b and 19 rbi for Northwestern, along with Jake at Northwestern Aaron Newman from Palatine Hs is hitting 348 with 23 runs scored.

Mike Letzter (Johnsburg High School) is getting more starts at Butler university as a catcher and is now batting .333. Had 2 hits today in a tough 2-1 loss against UIC.

Patrick Keating goes to 5-0 after beating Tennessee 7-2. Between HS baseball, summer baseball and at Florida he has a combined record of 53-3. Just a testament to how much of a winner this kid is.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Mississippi State hit five home runs but still dropped a 9-8 decision to 10th-ranked Kentucky Sunday afternoon in Southeastern Conference baseball action at UK's Cliff Hagan StadiumConnor Powers hit three home runs Sunday - tying the school record and becoming the second Bulldog to homer three times in a game this season. Jason Nappi accomplished that feat in a 24-10 win at UAB. Ryan Collins and Tyler Moore also hit home runs for the Bulldogs.

Connor Powers hitting .328 5 HR and 29 RBI in 30 games. My goodness!!!!!!! He may be one of the very best to ever come out of Illinois.

Congrats Conner. Another very good player out of Illinois is Dan Brewer who after a slow start is up to 326 with 7 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs and 15 rbi. He was leading off and now has moved to the 3 hole. Used to watch these 2 hit together during lessons once in a while. It doesn't get mentioned much but they both have worked hard on their defense.

Powers has 10 home runs and 35 rbi's hitting 355 as of today
