Sounds like someone has sour grapes to me BB39 do you have a kid playing COLLEGE baseball whether it for a dog like MVC or big dog like the SEC or are you just reddevil in disguise? I am proud of my son and what he has done to this point in his college career as are all the other fathers on here no matter where there sons are playing.D1 D2 D3 juco or other...I grew up with Powers dad and he was a helluva athlete and his son has obviously taken it on from him...i think all us dads would like to think that but i know better...i suked at BB played one year and done...now hockey, lets talk, get the hockey boards going OP-RF state champs 1975 yeah 1975 take that apart BB39 see ya on the pond
Nope, no sour grapes, and no kid who got "screwed", quite the contrary. I just think it is important for people to understand college baseball not just think they know what is going on because they are somewhat involved in it through a brief recruiting process or some summer baseball trips. People pay attnetion to things on here and can come out with bad info if people provide info that really isnt accurate. I appreciate your level of pride in your son and hopefully he enjoys his time there.
Who cares about OP-RF baseball...I'm an LT dad and if you have read any of our past posts you'd know that...LT OP-RF is a great bang em out brawl every year..I think LT has one more good run in them this year..if the pitching holds up, they should take WSC silver again...I went to OP and frankly I didn't even know that they had a baseball team...never went to one of there games cause none of them ever came to my hockey games, that is until 75 when we won state and in 76 when we threatend back to back..oh yeah ALL of our fans came out then...Go LIONS kick WSC silver bootttttyyy
Speaking of good numbers........

Florida State University, the # 1 ranked team in 3 of the 5 polls has some awesome numbers:

Record 27-1
Team Batting average .377
Team ERA 2.35

The Noles have 6 Starters that strike out less than once every 10 times at bat, including local products Ruairi O'Connor and Mark Hallberg.(Hallberg is the single hardest player to strike out in all of D1 over the past 3 years)

Hallberg is at .365 with 33 RBI and O'Connor is at .345 with 15 RBI
Ryne White (St Rita/Purdue) is tearing it up...

Avg. .430, Doubles 9, HR 3
Striking out only 1 out of every 12 AB's in the 3 slot.

Great approach to the plate. He gets it. He understands game situations, loose fast hands, turns on the ball, and goes oppo deep in the hitting zone. Stays short, firm and is always balanced. Not many hitters play with the pitchers!!! Whew!
Very few players get me this excited (I better stop before my wife thinks something is going on). All she hears my son and I talk about is "ConPow", Joe Benson and "YT".

I just got this off os the PG Crosschecker website about mid-season AA by class. Bryant George is listed as honorable mention.
RELIEF PITCHERS
1. Shawn Sanford (R), South Florida 1-0, 2.08, 9 SV
2. Scott Shuman (R), Auburn 4-1, 0.60, 3 SV, 15 IP/17 SO
3. Steve Strasburg (R), San Diego State 1-0, 2.42, 5 SV, 22 IP/28 SO
4. Kyle Gibson (R), Missouri 4-3, 3.29, 5 SV, 41 IP/8 BB/45 SO
5. Preston Claiborne (R), Tulane 0-1, 1.53, 2 SV, 29 IP/7 BB/35 SO

If there’s a redeeming quality to this year’s freshman class, this is it. There are a number of closers that have made an impact that could have cracked the list, including the likes of Arizona State’s Mike Leake (7-1, 3.71, 1 SV), Arizona’s Jason Stoffel (3-0, 3.09, 2 SV), Duke’s Mike Seander (0-1, 1.47, 7 SV), South Alabama’s Chris LaGrow (1-1, 3.05, 5 SV), San Diego’s A.J. Griffin (5-1, 3.79, 6 SV), Oklahoma’s Garrett Richards (1-0, 3.38, 8 SV) and Southern Illinois’ Bryant George (1-0, 1.45, 5 SV).
