DISSAPPOINTED to hear the CF #23 for Robinson yell out "get up.. stop crying" to the hit batter, as he laid on the ground bleeding. CLASSLESS..

I am hearing today that it is a season ending injury. Terrible news for the player, the family and the Oakton team. He is a fantastic young man and I wish him a speedy recovery.

The young man is beyond smart. He was my son's teammate during the summer/fall seasons and he used to do physics problems for fun during the trips. Very, very high GPA. He is an awesome kid and will do well in life, with or without baseball...

My boy plays with both these guys...horrible from both directions...these guys really care about one another...they want to compete, but none of them wants this. Get healthy Austin...Denis, it is part of the game...nothing but the best from this house for both of them...extra for Austin right now.

"West Springfield coaches were a joke.....must have all had a bad day at work."

Really Kedron....really? The game you refer to has been finished for over two hours, and you have that much time to think of something clever to say, and that's the best you can do? Terrible.

Truth is, although the umpiring crew was among the worst I have seen, both teams had to deal with this problem and West Po was able to deal with it better and pull out a good win. Hats off to their players - they were the better team tonight for sure.

Too bad that their supporters, or at least one of them that felt he had to post something, couldn't come up with something positive to say without feeling like he had to take a cheap shot. Real class.
Easy Berry, take your meds.....you had 2 or 3 times when your coaches were almost ousted. If you would like to get into specifics.....? Bring it!

Once again, Kedron, your class is showing.

"Bring it...?" What a laugh. I don't care to be dragged down into your hole. Why don't you crawl back into it yourself?

I gave your boys the credit they deserve. They played a good game last night, as a visiting team. They earned a good win -- their best win of the season. Why can't you post about that and not resort to adding your trite, moronic, classless opinions that you must somehow think add to the observation.

I won't be responding to any further of your posts about this. I've already gone close enough to your level by responding to this one. So go ahead and have at it if it will somehow fulfill you.
A little more detail on the Robinson/Centerville game. In a battle of junior pitchers, Robinson beats Centerville 2-1 in a nail biter. Robinson’s Chase Bailey pitched 4 innings for Robinson, allowing only 2 hits. Matt Spaulding picked up the save, pitching the final 3 innings and pitching out of several jams, including a 2nd & 3rd no out situation.

Carson Bach, who threw 150 pitches a little over two weeks ago in a 5-4 win against the same Robinson team, pitches seven innings for Centerville, throwing another 125 pitches tonight. I hope this kid's arm can hold out for the rest of the season.

With Westfield beating Chantilly tonight, there is a four way tie in the Concord for first place between Robinson, Centerville, Chantilly and Westfield, all tied with a 4 – 2 record.
Looks like this Region is basically Lake Braddock and then everyone else.

Patriot District this week:

Lake Braddock 10-0 (Beat TCW 18-1, Beat WS 9-0)
West Springfield 7-3 (Lost to WP 6-3, Lost to LB 9-0)
South County 6-3 (Beat Lee 17-8, No score on Annandale last night)
WT Woodson 6-4 (Neat Annandale 5-2, Lost to WP 3-1)
West Potomac 5-5 (Beat WS 6-3, Beat WTW 3-1)
TC Williams 3-7 (Lost to LB 18-1, Lost to Lee 3-0)
Annandale 1-9 (Lost to WTW 5-2, no score on SC)
Lee 1-9 (Lost to SC 17-8, Beat TCW 3-0)

Can someone out there show current Standings for the Liberty, Concorde and National Districts??

You're probably right about that. Looks like the Region is totally up for grabs.
In a game that lasted only 1 hour and 15 min, Westfield beats Robinson 1 - 0, in a pitching duel between Bryan Drager and Denis Mikush. Dragger gave up only three hits, two being bunts, in seven innings. Mikush was almost as impressive, giving up 4 hits in seven complete innings. Westfield's only run scored on a leadoff infield single, a passed ball, a groundout and a sac fly.
Oakton 7 - Chantilly 3

No details was not at the game.

Three or so more games until districts.

I believe regions match Liberty and Concorde, Patriot vs National.

With that in mind, with pitching the key who has the edge in the first round of regions.

My incomplete thoughts:

Stone Bridge two pitchers: Bukauskas, Mocabee
McLean: Sborz, perhaps Hunter
Marshall:McKeith
Madison: Davis
TC:Grosser

Lake Braddock: Church Rogers

Robinson: Bailey, Mikush not sure where Baker is?
Westfield: Dragger perhaps
Centerville: Bach (if he has any pitches left in his arm)

These are IMO pitchers who may be able to dominate a game and shut down a team. NO GUARANTEES

With that in mind Robinson and the first round game in the Liberty may be the place to be.

Annandale 4 West Potomac 3 (8 inn)

Ryan Smith hit a walk off HR in the bottom of the 8th to win it. WP had apparently won the game in regulation on a barehanded play at 3B. Base ump called runner at 1B out...game over....not yet...after protest by 3B coach, the Home Plate ump overruled, saying the 1B was off the bag..run scores on the play, tying the game. Not sure about that one. Nice win for Annandale though. WP continues to struggle putting it all together.

So with about 10 days to go for the regular season, who's in the post season & who's out?

(I know, it's idle speculation, but BX has me wondering)

Jess, to answer your question.....I think that Lake Braddock and Stone Bridge are the only two teams in the region who have clinched regional bids at this point. A couple more teams have a chance to do so on Friday I believe.
