Chantilly over Oakton 2-0 tonight in a pitching duel between Chantilly's 2016 Jared DiCesare (GMU commit) and Oakton's 2017 Toma Shigaki-Than.

I think Jared had 10Ks, 0 walks.

Yep, Jared was in a groove until the 6th when Oakton loaded the bases with 1-out but was able to K the next two batters to get out of the inning.

Wild one at Oakton: Centreville 2-1 over OHS in a pitcher's duel between Toma and Bach, with Bach carrying a no-no into the 7th. CHS scored 1 in the top of the 7th. OHS loaded the bases in the bot of the 7th that included two ground ball singles. With 1 out and a 2-2 count, OHS successfully pulls off a suicide squeeze. That was a stunner, and ties the game at 1. CHS comes back in the top of the 8th with one, and OHS can't bring the man home from 2nd base. A good one to witness, as Carter Bach was excellent on the bump.

Chantilly over Oakton 12-6 tonight.

U.G.L.Y. I suppose the upside was that Coach Ford emptied the bench halfway through the game so that all players got game reps in.

It was definitely different from the pitcher's duel from these teams' first game. With that said, I still came away impressed by Oakton's starting pitcher Owen Lamon as he showed good velocity and was generally keeping the ball down. As is typical, Chantilly did their best not to pitch to Rizzo.

Loudoun Valley 5-0 over Dominion tonight to improve to 9-0 in Conference 21B (4A) and 13-3 overall.  It was an interesting night.  With 5 games scheduled in 7 days, Coach Wayne Todd threw senior Hunter Gore, who is a big, LHH C heading to Liberty.  Gore threw a CG SO with well over 70% strikes.  What was interesting is that it was the 1st time Gore had ever pitched in HS.  Oh, and he also hit a 3R dinger in the 1st to give himself an early lead.
