Does anyone have any advice to share as far an official visit goes? I have been offered one by a D1 institution to take place in September and it will be my first. Just wanted to get a heads up on the process and make sure I come away with as much knowledge as I can from the visit.

Provi,
I am sorry that you only got one response to this question when the thread, BEING CLEAN SHAVEN AT A SHOWCASE got 44 responses. IMO, that question only has one answer. Smile

Congratulations! Official visits are very exciting and a chance for everyone to get to know each other. All you have to do is be yourself. I would suggest that you make a list of questions you may want to ask the coaches.
You will be sent a list of rules before you come and the current graduation rate of the school you will be visiting. This is NCAA compliance to let you know in advance about the schools graduation of all of their athletes, plus rules for the weekend (no drinking, etc.).
Most likely a player will be assigned to be your host for the weekend and you will probably spend some time to get to know the coaching staff, but most times the coaches feel that the players can get
the job done better than they can (convincing you to come unless you have already committed). You will have a chance to see all of the facilities, most likely meet academic advisors and tour the school if you have not done so already. You cannot try out or participate in practice, given a shirt, hat, etc. anything that would sway you in that regard to committ. You only have 48 hours for your visit.

Make sure that you dress appropriately (kaki pants or shorts and nice shirt) and clean shaven and hair nicely trimmed.

Hope that this helps, good luck!

BTW, great book, I highly recommend it.
