MD,
Well, even though this sounds like a foregone conclusion, I guess we still have to show up because the UIL makes us. Wink

Hope Meat is doing well; I know Coppell has a good pitcher in the big righthander.

Now PD, I am watching basketball because my boy doesn't play football.

As for the poke in the eye, Meats finger is still jammed and swollen....that is one of the reasons I wish he would just focus on baseball.

By the way Coppell was also missing two top players from football and any time we can beat Plano East we'll take it.

No need to play the games I already know the out come....but watching them play the games sure is fun.

How is Hawkson coming along? Is he back to 100%? This summer should be fun with Rusty at the helm.

The big right hander of the and finished the fall well, he had two real good innings in Juptier in front of the right people. The best part was that he saw that he could compete at the elite level. And basketball has him down to 240 / 245, he should be in great shape to start the HS season.

Sorry, Hawk, Hebron and the rest are battling for 2nd place... Wink

Doesn't look like Northwest should bother with their schedule either. I guess it will be a battle of the also-rans at Ameriquest on March 4.

Nothing like a spirited game between two also-rans, is there?[/QUOTE]

I guess we will muddle through...I know one ball will be put in play if RP is playing.

Those Jesuit boys showed well last year and are returning all 4 pitchers they used and only losing a couple infield and outfielders.

I think they should be able to win their district and make a good run at the playoffs.

Fellas...Fellas...

Id like to enlighten you guys on the ball club over at Jesuit. These boys over here really know a thing or two about the ol' bat and ball. I presume the shootin' Rangers are going to come out firing like a cannonball this season. Although we already mentioned how the slingers can really toss the leather, we might want to observe the way the sluggers really put it to the leather when it comes in their wheel-house. Id expect a solid sprint to the top of their district this upcoming season. Before I finish, I want to let you know i am a little new to this interweb net baseball convo's but im sure that I will keep the prints hot when we finally kick it off.

Their bullpen should be one of the district best with Alex Baker returning as well as Zach Lee who pitched extremely well with the junior olympic team in Venezuela. Tanner Moore may also see some quality time on the mound.

McKinney will definitely be the front runner to win district this year. North's run of 4 in a row may be in jeopardy! It'll be a fun year in 9-4A with several teams in the running for the 3 playoff spots.

WOW!!! I want to say soooooo many things but I will refrain.

I guess what I wanted to say is there are quite a few young men on the Eagles baseball team that would be offended by statements like that. Ringer1 son was. It's nothing against Brandon, not at all. He's great ball player with a bright future but that statement makes it sound like he's the only ball player on the team with a grain of talent. Keep in mind these are the same guys that went undefeated as a JV group.

Sorry I'm on my 16th hour at work so I'm a little cranky. Maybe I'll loosen up in the morning.

My mother always told little Al to cross your bridges when you come to them and if you dont you might end up as happy as a dead pig in the sunshine. Thats just a old saying the misses used to say when I was a bit down in the dumps.

Cheer up and keep the path smelling like roses

Are you kidding me kirk? First of all stating that one player can cary an entire team is ludicrous. Second drop the DBat bias and stick to the facts. Anyone that knows anything about anything understands that Rowlett has plenty of tools in the wings. I know that you are trying to put your professional spin on this. However, I think that you should review the facts a bit more. Coach Carmon would not put stock in one season. He is constantly reloading the team, at the very least to take District. To say that Rowlett will be a one man show is true Dbat bias and totally "off the cuff". I know that the one man show you described would not be in agreement with your synopsis. Basbeall is a team game and Rowlett should be ready for the challenge. How about Hamblin, Castilla, Johnson and Johnson. Look for Rowlett to be the team to beat in 10-5A as usual. Also look for Rowlett to make some noise in 5A period. I know the the one man show is what you would like to promote, however there is more there than meets the eye.

Cuffs are off, I have no bias now and think that the one man show is offensive, and just simply an uninformed statement

Just my take.....

Kirk has been like this for a long time. Always thinking that the kids playing for him from the time they were 9 or 10 were the cream of the crop and not giving others their due credit. From the time they were Texas Sports to Rattlers to Team Texas to Mustangs, DBAT, etc. he has always shown this bias.

BL and many of the other kids can play but none can be a one man show.
What a bunch of crybabies! What coach/dad doesn't like HIS players better than others? Kirk knows what he likes in players and I don't always agree with him, but it isn't only D-Bat players. You guys sound like a couple of jealous 14 year old girls. Get over it!

Keep the opinions coming Kirk, that is what drives this site.

Robert Spengler
I think Rowlett will always be good because they seem to be able to develop talent at the JV level, then reload each year. Once a team establishes a winning tradition, it becomes easier to teach the things it takes to win.......pretty much the same at Rockwall, Poteet, FM, Coppell, and a number of other schools.

I also think you guys are dog-piling Kirk unfairly. Sure, you'll accuse me of DBAT bias as well....but I don't think you'll find much of that in my posts. I'm East biased! Smile Kirk was trying to jumpstart the topic and isn't it somewhat natural to talk about the kids we know? (Kirk isn't the only one to do that) I don't think his comment was intended as a criticism of the other Eagles. Castilla, Hamblin, and Andrew Smith sounds like a pretty decent pitching foundation to me <-- don't mean to leave anyone out, I just don't know the other Rowlett pitchers.

When will Morris be eligible at Coppell (start of district?) and how severe was his injury? Their junior class is dynamite.

JAFO -- I'm thankful that you found those graemlins late in your HS career! Cool

Robert -- does Sandy know you have the password again?

Ringer1, you are right, my comments probably did come across the wrong way, for that I appologize. I simply meant that Rowlett will need to replace a lot of very good players from last year, including CF, Catcher and 4 of their top pitchers.

I have a great deal of respect for the Rowlett program, the coach and talent they seem to always have. I guess I deserved all the flamming remarks for being insensitive to the players. I believe that this website should not disparage players in any way...again I appologize!

I don't know about his return or eligiblity, I'm sure Tigermom will give us an update at some point. When ever he returns / is eligible it won't be soon enough. We are looking forward to seeing play under Coach English. As for the rest of the 2009's...their just looking to compete.
Coppell does have a 6'5" RHP in the 2010 class who could contribute and did so this fall. They did lose a stud 6'5" LHP/1B to Prestonwood Christian who would have had a solid role, but still boast one of the best Junior classes in the country!

It'll be interesting to see what Flower Mound runs out there this year. It's probably like any other year at FM where everyone says "We lost too much to be successful", yet they always re-load!

Jesuit has some pitching coming back, and also picked up a nice transfer from the New Orleans area who will really help them out on the mound.

I can guarantee that Kirk didn't mean anything against any of the other Rowlett players by his comments.

JAFO, how many of the smilies do you have in the collection?
No problem JAFO. As I explained in my post to Ringer1, my intent was not to slight any player. If I do, it is by accident and I expect to be called on it which I was.

Any team, highschool, college, pro, that loses key players up the middle, including starting pitching, should have to prove themselves before being annointed a top team. Again, my comments were not meant to slight a player(s) or a program. A lot of unknow players will step up and prove their abilities on the field and the top programs will prove their ability to reload.
