Now that football is over we have a countdown in our family. Only 70 days until baseball starts. But whose counting?

Hey we have lost 2 OL and a QB plus our RB only has one leg right now so I think the writing is on the wall so to speak.

You vote of confidence in Colleyville was great and thanks....Pitching ought to be ok...They have a Senior that looked very strong this fall and a little lefty that might help The program is awesome...very disciplined ...driven coaching staff.
Rowlett- Hamblin had a good summer on the mound would not think Loy will be alone
It will all boil down to the work done in the next 10 weeks...IMO

PD Martin lost their #1,#3,#5 & #6 hitters and their #5 & #6 pitchers from last years team so don't expect much from us this year.
quote:IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER. IMO I think McKinney, Waxahachie, Highland Park are at the top in the area in 4A. They all three have alot of talent coming back. JMHO.

Northwest lost a senior benchwarmer and two senior pinch runners from last year's team as well.
quote:Wylie and Coppell may have the best 2009 players. Plano will be improved -- watch out if Burkhead adds baseball to his impressive resume. Rockwall has two strong arms. A little birdie tells me Sasche will be the real deal

CHHS has all three starting pitchers back from a playoff team a year ago. Also, a quality hitting team. They are the District 5-5A odds-on favorite.
Keller will be very strong at the plate and Merck on the mound every other district game. Playoff team for sure.
Southlake Carroll graduated all but three varsity players, but they always have talent and many of their JV players would start for other schools' varsity teams.
Richland looks to be the most improved team in the district with some younger players stepping into key roles, especially on the mound.
Grapevine returns much of their team, including starting pitching. OF is where they were hit the hardest with graduation, but they will be tough.
Northwest was very young last year, so much of the team is back. More arms available, but no clear ace. Pitching will have to carry the spotty hitting...if that happens, will compete.
Keller Central seems to always be a wild card in this district. Usually hits well and can beat the best on any given day, but can also lose to the worst. Hard team to read.
Haltom has a new coach I think, so look for them to improve, but it may not be this year. Need to develop the younger players, but should be a force in future years.

There will be no reason for this team not to win 6-5A this year and next.....and Coach English has been quoted as saying that the 2011 freshman class is the strongest he has every had at Coppell.

One of East's key players was poked in the eye in the 3rd period and another walked off the football field last Thursday night. Who's watching basketball anyway???

MD,
Well, even though this sounds like a foregone conclusion, I guess we still have to show up because the UIL makes us.
Hope Meat is doing well; I know Coppell has a good pitcher in the big righthander.

Sorry, Hawk, Hebron and the rest are battling for 2nd place...
Doesn't look like Northwest should bother with their schedule either. I guess it will be a battle of the also-rans at Ameriquest on March 4.

I just wanted to say that the private school over in dallas should be awful tough.
Those Jesuit boys showed well last year and are returning all 4 pitchers they used and only losing a couple infield and outfielders.
I think they should be able to win their district and make a good run at the playoffs.

Rowlett- lost a ton and don't return any top pitchers. Loy will have to do it all.

Thats Kirk's quote not mine.

Keep an eye on Denton Ryan this year - only lost two starters from last season that went 24-12

Mckinney High should be pretty tough as they return all their starters minus two senior outfielders. Their bullpen should be one of the district best with Alex Baker returning as well as Zach Lee who pitched extremely well with the junior olympic team in Venezuela. Tanner Moore may also see some quality time on the mound.

I guess what I wanted to say is there are quite a few young men on the Eagles baseball team that would be offended by statements like that. Ringer1 son was. It's nothing against Brandon, not at all. He's great ball player with a bright future but that statement makes it sound like he's the only ball player on the team with a grain of talent. Keep in mind these are the same guys that went undefeated as a JV group.
Sorry I'm on my 16th hour at work so I'm a little cranky. Maybe I'll loosen up in the morning.

funneldrill, we lost our LF, 3B, 2B, 1B & C from last year and those were 5 of our best hitters so don't expect much from us this year.

Nice to have the "problems" you have FD -- OH NO, YOU LOST YOUR 8,9 HOLE HITTERS!!! It will take coaching genius to fill those spots. Of course I recognized your sarcasm.....it sounds like you guys will be strong. How does the district stack up? I hope everyone knows that I am not taking shots at his '07 lineup -- and sad that we're in the "add the disclaimer" day and age.
11sdad is a sandbagger!
East returns their middle infielders and the 3B....poor East....we'll be lucky to make the playoffs.
