Krace4:

You could be one of many folks at Marcus....

It has been lonely being one of very few avid Marcus posters on HSBBweb so welcome.. of course you know who I am (the new moniker is a dead giveaway) and I really have no idea who you are and that is ok. If you want me to know who you are then send a PM either way you want it it is ok (known/unknown).

KD: you know me all too well Smile and to be honest I think you know as many, if not more, people over in our neck of the woods as I do.... I am not so sure either is such a good thing Big Grin

That was my first thought on who you are, if I am right, I think our boys have more than mudding in common?????????????? and I am one of his (your son's) fans, as you know.........

Welcome to the boards and you have jumped right in with the "local" humor I see.........

Gotta run and deliver some food/gifts to one of our own.........these are the things I appreciate about our community.

So it's not time to panic yet?

Geez, over a long district wont things even out?
You are what you are. Blame it on coach, umps, IHOP, Walmart, .....there's alot of talent in this area...If Johnny's team isn't as great as we thought, maybe it's not coaches fault, maybe my little area of the metroplex didn't produce the great pitchers as the other. Or maybe we aren't the talent evaluaters we thought we were. Let the kids play, if they get a scholarship, great, if they learn sportsmanship, great.
If they end up playing lacrosse at Duke, bad.

I just got time to check this out. Looked that player up on their website. I almost fell out of my chair laughing. I didn't know that Gomer Pyle played baseball.
NTXFan -- I'm not a CrookedHatFan either, but Jordan is a very good player, having signed early with Central Arkansas (joining the Southland Conference for 2007). He is a good hitter, an excellent defensive 1B, and a LHP. Ok, he's a goofy kid at times, but he is well-respected by his teammates, coaches, and other baseball people in the area -- a member of the Marshals and/or Dallas Tigers in the summers/falls.

Having come to his defense, I think I can say........Jordan, straighten the hat! Smile
PD and DBAT, Thanks for the kind words. As you can see by my post count, I am not on this site often, but I saw this thread about East, and now Jordan. So I figured I would say something.

The East team is a team of quality players, that work hard to do their best. They have had a rough time here lately, (which teams have at times) but they continue to work hard and play the best they can. They will not give up. Last night was a good example of that, we were playing Allen down 5-0 going in to the bottom of the 7th. The guys did not give up they kept playing, we came up a little short in the end, lost 5-4, but they were in there giving it their all, I will continue to stand behind and support a team that will not give up on themselves.

Go Panthers!!

As for Jordan and his crooked hat. I tell people that his hat is straight; it is his head that is crooked.
Just like most of you “old time” baseball guys, I was not a fan of how he wears his hat. I would tell him that if you want to play baseball at the next level, you have to impress old baseball guys that are my age, and that how you wear your hat reflect on you. He says this is “who I am”, and I like to wear it this way. I have to admit I was right , and so was he, it may not be popular or the “norm”, but it does reflect on him, and who he is; confidant in his ability, proud of who he is, and no matter what the odds are, determine to succeed. He will not only take that with him to the next level in baseball, but will also take that with him, once he has finished playing the game. I will be proud of him even more then.

Love him or hate him, Jordan will be true to himself, which is something I always taught him to be. And I am sure a lot of you on this site want for your kids too.

I guess I am done now. I will go away and try to stay away from this site, but I will always be a supporter of Plano East Baseball and Jordan.

06eastdad - Congrats! It sounds like you have raised a confident, well-adjusted son with a lot of talent. It sounds like you are a good parent as well....giving good advice but at the end of the day letting them make their own choices.

I too checked out the Plano East website when this discussion started and I don't think the hat looks bad at all - he is a sharp looking kid.

Go PESH! (I am not a PESH follower but am pulling for them after the tough couple of weeks they have had.)
