Congrats to Brett, Barry University is a great academic school, and a good baseball program.
One of my kids played for Barry few years ago. Tell Brett that he is going to have two excellent team mates in Michael Fuentes, catcher ( Whom I coached from 10 to 14 years old), and Alex Meneses, SS (whom played with my son Marcos with the Florida Bombers).
May be I can meet Brett at the next ex-alumni game.

Greg Ladd, Prefect Game Fall Scout league, 2001, Nebraska, we took the league by the way!! Had several kids on our team that turned pro right after the league ended if you remember!! Jonathan, Marvin, and I believe Albert from Venezuala! 98% of the kids on the team either went Pro or ended up going D1!! Kudos to you Jerry!!!

Since PG was asking for posts from all 50 states I'll throw in my 2 cents from Utah.

My son is Cody Savage. 11 yoa
Plays for Utah Bandits of Rocky Mountain Baseball and the IU Titans. 75% of time plays catcher, rest of the time it's SS, 1B, pitcher and outfield. Struck out only 6 times in 40 games last summer.

To the best of my knowledge I'm the only poster from Utah on here.

GO UTES!

BBmom,
This enias is, I believe, the same webster who stirred things up in the "Chat thread" which Fungo had to ultimately close. I believe he posted then under "x" something.

enias,

Why are you trying to ruin a very nice thread that is happening here?

Why do you keep posting your son's link over and over again in this and other threads?

Everyone here is happy for you and your son, why are you being rude and obnoxious?

Expressing your son's accomplishments are fine, but to persistently brag is wrong and self defeating.

This is all just my humble opionion and yes you can act as you wish.

Knowledge is Power! Thank you Mavens and HSBBWEB!

Thanks for your response. Brett acually spent some time with Alex and Michael on his visit to Barry. We agree - excellent players and great guys. We watched the alumni game (were you there?) We are looking forward to being part of the baseball family there. You didn't say - where is your son playing? Hope to meet you next year!

Sportsplus5 - Great to hear from you, too! How's Steven? Any decisions yet - PLEASE let us know. You can leave me a PM - I findly figured out how to do that. - bbmama
justbaseball,

Don't know if this is the place for this, but I just received a call from a scout that saw your son pitch today and also the last time he pitched. 89-93 one day, 89-92 the other. Said the changeup was unreal today and that he carved up a good hitting team in a hurry. He also said the breaking ball was great the last time out.

It's fun following these kids. Wish him luck from us, not that he needs it. Email me, if you'd rather I wouldn't mention these things.
PGStaff - Thanks for the report - just got back from LA (got a ticket along the way Frown ). It was fun to be back out there again watching baseball in 60+ degree weather with shorts on (better break out the sunglasses for those white legs! Cool)!

I thought he looked really good too - but hey, I'm not too objective. Anyways, the thing that blew me away was the catcher - Robbie Alcombrack (sp?). Sophomore catching 90+ jumping fastballs and all the other moving offspeed stuff E.D. was dealing like he'd been doing it all his life. I know you guys have Robbie ranked high for an 06, but he is the REAL DEAL! WOW! I wish he'd transfer high schools! laugh

Congratulations on what sounds like a GREAT outing by your son and the rest of the team. We love our SoCal neighbors, it's always fun to make that long drive over the grapevine when you win the tourney! How did the other pitchers on your team look?

-----------------------------
Pay attention to the feedback that takes you where you want to go!
URKillingMeBlue - I thought they all looked great.

Brad Bergeson threw the semis - 90-93 with a very good splitter.

Jeff Lyman was solid against ABD. Eric Massingham threw well as did Tyson Ross. David Cooper and Joe Hatasaki (sophomore from Mountain View) both threw shutout ball in relief in 2 apperances each while sitting in the high 80's. I know I'm forgetting one or two others, but they all looked impressive. Pretty amazing stuff for January outings.

Hitting was really good as well from pretty much everyone. Can Brett Wallace swing the bat or what?!?!

My Grandson.......Frank Bainer, 04, Holy Cross High, Connecticut. starts 3rd year as varsity catcher...switch hitter . Better than average receiver and ball blocker.Handles pitchers well. Knows the game. A "sponge" at learning. Excellant student. Has not committed yet to college. Education top priority. Went to a PG event last summer. Not a big kid yet, so not realy noticible. My son, like me grew late, stopped growing around 20. My son was a " Banjo" type hitter, till after high school than became a power hitter. Hope it is in the genes for my grandson. If so, a real "gem" in college. The bottom line ,though, is he is a Great kid.
