Thought it might be cool to post some pics of our Pre-HS boys. Here is Boomer in a travel ball tournament last weekend in TN. He plays for the Greenwood Sox 13U out of SC. I'd love to see recent pics of Lil Beezer, Lil Sandman, Lil Redbird, Lil CADad, et al, to see how much they've grown. Smile

Ross - Lil Beezer's holding steady at about 5'11" 150 lbs. I don't have any pics from this season yet but we're headed to a tourney this weekend so maybe I can snap a couple with Mrs Beezer's digital.

What happened to "Cute" Boomer? That boy in the pic is gettin a 'tude!!! (a very good one though)
Callaway,
CASon is 6'1 1/2" (in the morning) and weighs about 170 lbs. He's 15yo and just finished his JV season throwing 9 innings over 8 appearances giving up 1r, 0er, 2bb, 5h, 4k, 1hbp. He spent the first half of the season recovering from an arm injury. They play in one of the best leagues in the nation and a couple of the JV teams he threw against are stronger than most varsity teams, which is understandable given that the corresponding varsity teams were nationally ranked. In fact, our JVs beat our varsity in their annual scrimmage although the varsity's two best pitchers and the JV's two best pitchers (IMO) didn't pitch. If both teams had thrown just their best pitchers then the varsity would've won.

What is the reason for this thread and for posting pictures of your sons?

JMO, but I have been enjoying seeing the pictures of these boys - it reminds me of some fun times before the HS drama began. It's obvious that these parents are very proud of them, and I'm proud of mine. And it's nice to be in a thread where people aren't bashing each other or arguing semantics.
Here's my take. We've shared some of our baseball experiences here with one another. We've become to some degree friends. I've found myself picturing in my mind the posters and their boys on occasion. It's just another way to strengthen the friendships we are making here. Chances are many of us will never meet so this is as close as we will get.

Besides, my kid is pretty good looking and I don't mind showing him off. Big Grin

My original idea was to rip you for knocking us for putting pictures of our sons on here. Especially if you have your son as your avatar. If you don't like the idea, then just go away.

However, I'll assume your question is honest and tell you this, I love to watch my boys play and I love to look at pictures of them playing. Also, I love to see pictures of other boys playing. My fall team has a dad who's a professional photographer. I asked him to make me a CD of the pictures he takes and not just of my son. I think it's great fun to see someone else's perspective of the game.

Everyone likes to brag about their children. (well, maybe not Brittney Spears' mom). We all think our children are the smartest, best looking, best baseball players out there. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

Can I go back to being mean (in a joking way) to infielddad? I'll bet you have a bumper sticker that says "My kid beat up your honor student"

All in good fun my friend.

But that doesn't explain, to me at least, why being proud of your son, at this age, translates into posting pictures of them on the HSBBW

Does it bother you?

Infielddad, I'm sure you didn't mean it, but your reference to "at this age" came across to me as just a bit hoity-toity. Seemed to me that you had a problem with it, too. But I'm glad you don't

bkecks, I'm with you! More pictures, please!
