OP, I was at those two games and it appears that the Blue Sox are a gritty and determined bunch of kids. The second game was an impressive pitching display as well. Good luck the rest of the season.

Juice,

The second game was actually pitched by my son, but I had to miss the game because we did some moving!! What a bummer! Mad

Thank you for the encouragement. We definitely needed those 2 wins. We had been in a prolonged funk for a couple of weeks!!

Thanks.....

OP,

I would definately echo the comments by Juice on the Blue Sox being a hard working bunch. SmartSon plays for the 16U Patriots (he caught the 2nd game Saturday). It was obvious you guys were down several players, but I did not know the extent or that it was due to injuries. The pitcher from the 1st game pitched a heck of a game against us, and it looked like you just ran short on pitching the 2nd game. Keep fighting through these tough times. Which one was your son? I'm guessing from other posts that he is a well known player, but we are still realtively new to the Dallas select scene after moving here from Houston before his freshman year.
SmartDad,

Welcome to the area, we're glad you're here!!

My son missed both of the Patriot games on Saturday. My daughter's 18th birthday was yesterday and we had her birthday party on Saturday up in Paris, Texas. He was bummed out about having to miss the games, but family comes first you know!!

Good luck to you guys the rest of the way! We're on a 2 game roll now!!

Once the dust settles, it appears that DBAT 16 will win the BBI 16U Premier division and host the BBI State tournament at Dallas Christian. The Dallas Giants have already qualified for MMWS by winning the qualifier.

Congratulations DBAT on winning the BBI Premier league. Great accomplishment against some pretty strong competition.

Who will be the first pick in the draft for a little help in the state tournament?
So far, the Dallas Giants are 1-2 in their pool play at the 16U WWBA tournament in Marietta, Ga. this week.

Frozen Ropes Blue Sox are 2-1.

If you would have told me before the tournament that one would be 2-1 and the other 1-2, I would have picked the Giants at 2-1.

I'm glad the Blue Sox are playing well. Does anyone know if Colten Cain made the trip to Ga.?

Actually, Matt is not with the Blue Sox any longer. Things that went on at Frozen Ropes after my resignation, prompted us to decide to remove him from the team. They are all great guys and we love Grant Tonick, Casey Rush and Ben Ramirez, who are the coaches. We just felt we needed to make a break from the situation we were in there. They are doing a great job there in Marietta, and I am really happy for them.

It is my understanding that Colten is not with the Giants in Georgia. I believe it is related to the tryout for the Youth National team. Disclaimer: my information is 2nd hand.

How could he not make it? The kid is a one in a million talent for his age. I said 2 years ago that he would be a first round pick out of high school and I don't think I'm wrong about that still. He is a man among boys right now in my opinion.
