I was at a tournament game last night and saw
something that really disturbed me.There have
been many discussions about pitch count, when to take out the starter, etc. One genius last night
found the perfect time to remove the starter-when he fell on the ground clutching his shoulder after he threw a pitch. The pitcher had been making strange stretching motions with his
arm for 2 innings, had thrown a lot of pitches, the vast majority of them curveballs, and
the coach had someone warming up in the bullpen
the prior inning.I have seen a lot of games, but
seeing this last night just sent me over the edge. The philosophy is just keep them out there
until their arms fall off-it almost happened last night!!!
