You’re placing too much significance on a short season transitioning from college to pro ball. A positive is his strikeout ratio is low. He’s making contact. He strong enough to display power. These numbers are nothing to worry about.
On the other hand, he's striking out like around once every 5 times up and showing no power transitioning to wood, in a league where it's age appropriate for him.

Don’t you think he’s been scouted using wood in summer leagues? He’s making contact. The power will follow. He has the size and strength.

If TBC and Base Reference isn't listing him playing in a summer league, then it didn't happen. They're pretty good at that stuff.
Side note, kudos to TBC for having Juco stats and shame on BR for not including them.

B-R has a staff. They're very professional. The Juco ommission is bothersome. Not sure why they don't try to address it? But, on the whole, they're the gold standard.
I love TBC for the effort and what they do. But, I get the sense that it's one guy doing it and they do make errors - although, if you spot one and contact them, they will correct it.
I am trying to figure out why you are calling out a young man who signed in late July and wasn't assigned to a team until August 5th. He played in 25 games total. We've mentioned on this site several times that there is a period of time when most, if not all, players find the transition from college to professional ball to be difficult. I am going to think about this thread and am not comfortable with calling out this young man.
He isn’t calling out anyone, he’s asking a question. While I don’t think the young man has been in the mlb long enough to ask that question, it’s his right to. People have to stop being so offended by little things
And even if this kid was my son, who cares? What do I care someone not affiliated with the mlb thinks of my son.
Examining the season stats of a professional baseball player who just got a $3 million dollar signing bonus isn't exactly the same as getting on some high school kid for being overweight, is it? I mean, if you're a professional baseball player, and some rando dude on a message board says your stats were subpar, and that gets under your skin, you're in the wrong line of work. Try warming up in the visiting bullpen at Fenway Park. Now, that's uncalled for... But, baseball fans discussing your stats on Baseball Reference? That's not unusual.

There have been multiple threads on this site where member's children playing professional ball have been called out. Those threads were addressed and members defended those players/parents. You took someone who has played 25 professional games and has called into question with the OP and now this response if their professional team messed up drafting them. 25 GAMES!
Judging minor league and college players in this forum is not very popular, parents of players want a break from all the public and media scrutiny that players are facing.
Because of this I want to stay mostly away from that now.
Just a short general comment on small samples: I don't see anything concerning, power and babip are low but strikeout to walk rate is OK. Plate discipline numbers are much more telling in a small sample than power and batting average data which has a large luck component.
A couple extra fly balls being caught at the warning track will have a big influence on batting average and power over such a small sample.

Calling out the sample size is a fair point. I'm a big believer in discounting the small sample size regardless if the stats are bad or good. That said, history is full of guys who were all world in college with metal bats where it didn't translate going pro with wood. As a college and mlb fan, it will be interesting to see this player in 2025.

My focus is more on the organization than the player in situations like this one. When it's a 1st rounder, there's always other options. My curiosity is more on the decision making of the drafting team. If this was a 25th round pick, nobody cares.
He was a second round draft pick. He will get many chances to fail. The higher the round, the more chances you get.
