Anybody have any new or interesting walkup songs? My son gets to pick his now as a sophomore. He asked my opinion but I don't listen to any stations that play new music. Everything I'd recommend is some type of 90's hip hop or rock. Apparently, that isn't something he is considering.

The chorus from "Barbie Girl" by Aqua is probably one of the best I've heard at a game...
Walkups in high school? I'm old.
Hip hop or country?
What type of music is he into? Rap? RnB? Hip-Hop?
He listens to just about anything but country.
Cardi B - Up
I joked with Cardi B WAP. They had song privileges suspended once already for a naughty song.

they only play a small segment of the song so you can find a particular verse....and get the clean version
Drake Nice for What or Meek Mills Uptown Vibe are both good. Also Lil Wayne Uproar. Definitely find the clean versions! These are all a few years old now.
Metallica, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin all have plenty of classic riffs if he's willing to go old school.
I asked the student currently in my classroom for suggestions but didn't get much.
Tap In by Saweetie
Definitely get the clean version.
I think he's more concerned if he doesn't pick one the seniors will pick it for him, lol. In the past he's had Turn Down for What and I Can't Stop. It's probably been 4 or 5 years since he's been on a team that had them.

All the way up, Yes Indeed-Lil Baby & Drake, Drip too Hard- Lil Baby & Gunna
How did I know 2025 would come through?! Nice list. These are all on his workout playlist

Probably dating myself but can't go wrong with any part of opening riff of Metalica's Enter Sandman. You get the parents/fans/players participating and the stadium will sound amazing.

So I mentioned Enter Sandman and he blew it off. Then I said it was Rivera's song out of the pen and now it is a top candidate
If hip hop is his thing, J. Cole's Middle Child is a little mellow but very cool. Esp. if he's a middle child
My '22 has spent far too much time thinking about this. He's down to the Arctic Monkeys/Do I Wanna Know, Metallica/For Whom the Bell Tolls and Beastie Boys/Brass Monkey. Old musical soul, not that I had anything to do with that
If he wants old school - DJ Khaled "All I Do Is Win"
Too bad you're not on the East Coast, 2025! I'm thinking you and my son would enjoy going to the Made In America concert together, when such things are allowed again.
I always wanted my son to use Led Zeppelin, Immigrant Song. He never did. I still think it is an awesome option.
Being at a lot of games the last few weekends, I will say a lot of the guys use songs that were from before they were born...son included.
Talked to son one time about walk up songs and he said, he wanted "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas, until I told him what the song was about. He likes stuff from the 70s. LOL
Son & daughter have used, in the past:
- "Elephant" - Tame Impala
- "Power" - Kanye
- "Gold on the Ceiling" - Black Keys
- "Inspection" - Leftfield
- "Painkiller" - Judas Priest
Good times.....
As a freshman or 1st year varsity player the "leaders" of the team get to pick the walk up songs. csinfortworth's was "Baby Shark" two years ago. This year he got to pick all the "newcomers". Lots of Disney songs this year.

Holy sh#t batman, I'm ancient if Dj Khaled is old school.
My pick: Brothers Osborne - Shoot From The Hip
Close your eyes and listen to the beginning of that song, then tell me you ain't ready to hit a bomb!
Only be young again......

Funny Immigrant Son is what my son has used in the past. He chose it on his own and I had no idea what he was going to use until I heard it. Most were all hip hop and rap.
I am glad your kid is seeking your advice with this. My kid will only probe me to save it as a punchline or a retort to one my sardonic comments. Anyway to play on this fanatasy, I would tell my kid to go with something mellow because the pressure in the box will already spike you with adrenaline and being amped up messes with the fluidity of the swing and timing.
I'm still stuck on the fact that he asked your opinion.
Mine did use a song from a cartoon in his last home at-bat senior year - and hit a home run. Maybe he should have used it earlier.
Wipeout, the Surfaris
You folks mind adding links to the songs. I'm about 100 years so I don't know a lot of those, Like who is that Cardiac person? And I thought Hemingway wrote For Whom the Bell Tolls.
Never mind...I just learned out to do it.
One of the players on my son's college team used the fanfare from Masterpiece Theater. It was very regal and really stood out. This was in 2013 so he won't hear it if he uses it.
If he wants to go Retro-I still have fantasies about walking to the Plate with "Wild Thing" blaring !!!!
If that song doesn't get your blood pumping then your dead!
My son uses Jukebox Hero (~1:20 into the song). The parents love it, and I've heard the coaches do too.
Jay Rock - Win (Clean Version)
Cult of Personality is one of my fav walk up songs. I think my son was actually going to use that this year. Last year he used Number One Spot by Ludacris.
I am big on walk up songs without a lot of lyrics but have that vibe that get you pumped up. The beginning of This is How Do, by The Game, is one I think works well. The instrumental version of Highest in the Room by Travis Scott is another one I really like. 300 Violin Orchestra is another instrumental song that works. May work a little better for player introductions though.
Downstait makes a couple of good songs that I thought pieces of the song would make for some great walk up music, Kingdom and I Came to Play.
Lead off guy for son’s team uses John Cena’s walk out song. The Time is Now. It stands out.
At college level, walk up songs are more for pumping up the fans. HS more for the kids to have fun.
@ARCEKU21, funny you should mention instrumental -- when I finally had time to ask my 2024 what he'd pick as his walk up music the clip he immediately came up with was the Eurovision sax guy (song from Moldova 2010).
I have decided that my walk "in" song, when allowed back in the office, is going to be Emminence Front by The Who. Put it on, crank it up and enjoy.... Yes quite obscure and don't try to understand the lyrics.
The best walk up song my son had (his junior year) was the opening theme to "Star Wars".
If we were at the concession stand or going to/from the restroom we knew he was coming to bat.
Since his D2 played their home games at the local MiLB stadium the sound was great.
Been to thousands of travel, high school and college baseball games over the years. Two walk up songs stuck out that I really liked and caught my attention, and thought to myself that is different:
Psycho Killer - Talking Heads
Good Vibrations - Beach Boys
Personally, I'm partial to "When the Levee Breaks" - Led Zeppelin. It is by far the best drum intro to any song. It is my personal phone ringer.
Good luck!
Since TMM is a starting pitcher, I didn't think he had a walk-up song. I learned the other day he apparently did. He batted .250 with a couple of RBIs back in '19 for the Rockies.
Like smokeminside I am not familiar with a lot of songs and I Googled Thunderstruck. The following were a few of the first results. I suspect the AC/DC version was his, but he throws a few curveballs and the others might have been possible.

My son picked the Rally Monkey song from the Angels (jump around?). To each, his own...
