The guy is arrogant. He also wrote a book on what a hassle the relatives of patients can be.
I would bet that guy would tell a kid admitted to MIT he should be smart enough to look up a phone number instead of asking for it. 
This guy is a total moron. And he goes on to describe exactly how his kids will turn out to be perfect children... My kid lives baseball and can't get enough of it. And why are we always supposed to apologize cause sports are a priority in our lives?
I saw an interview with the author in which he said that you can tell who will be the Division I athletes by age 10. He doesn't know what he's talking about.
Sean Miller was a phenomenal dribbler who appeared on the Tonight Show with Carson when he was 5 yrs old I think. Could shoot the 3 in college but his height and slow of foot held him back. Turns out he's a "pretty good" NCAA college coach .....
The article is stupid and corrosive to any kid who has a dream that is tough to attain. People like this guy only provide negativity. He should change his title to Dream Crusher. Kids should be encouraged to reach their dreams and also shown how hard they will need to work to get there. What they dont need are people telling them to be more realistic.
And furthermore, sports teaches life far better than some twit with a book. Kids learn how to handle failure, success, sense of team, etc.
The twit with a book provides sarcastic snarky reasons why we and our kids are just dolts who blindly follow the quaint idea that hardwork and perseverance can and does pay off.
But but other than that I don't really have any thoughts on the book.
