Here's my son's HS site - there are some pictures on the home page including several of my son - Michael Curtis #12. Ours was started by a couple of dads and some of it hasn't been updated for quite some time.

Just a couple of quick notes (personal & Professional observations)......
Most folks do not like web sites with music (especially the cheap electronic stuff that comes with free web sites)
Don't litter your site with cheap special effect (Like rain or snow or active mouse pointers)
People like pictures of the players (especially the kids!!)
Make sure that you have the permission of the parents to post images of under age kids... (Some folks like their privacy and in this crazy day and age they deserve it)
I try not to use last names or things that can identify under age players.

Keep the site simple. Lay of all the useless stuff and keep it geared towards information, because that is what people want with sites like these. Have accurate schedules, accurate roster info (ht, wt, etc) because you'll be surprised how many emails will you get from college coaches asking for info.
