Present Wrapping Advice
I was very honored today to have received a phone call from the one and only "Bubba" of Bubba's Baseball Bashers Bonanza Southern Recruiting & Showcase Service When Bubba called he asked if I was busy and I explained that I was wrapping some Christmas presents, although it might be better if I found a 12 year old to do it ... they would look better. Bubba was kind enough to share the secret of gift wrapping, the Alabama way. Mr. Bubba explained that all I needed to do was take a twist tie...

Re: Silly, but ohhh such a needed question:
I'm a newbie and have some answers to your questions. If you have Wal-Mart nearby, check out their Gatorade stock. Here in Cincinnati, many powdered flavors are available- fruit punch, glacier freeze, fierce grape, etc... Also, Powerade does make powder in a few flavors- mountain cooler (the blue one- not sure I have the name right), fruit punch and I think lemon-lime. I find that at Kroger (grocery chain). Hope that helps!

Re: College Corner
I think the hardest is the reality for us they CAN survive on their own. I sent mine off today quite a bit differently from the first two years. First year the truck was packed full, last year groceries mostly, this year, some pretzels, peanut butter crackers, water and bananas. Reason, he now knows where the local Wal Mart is, much easier just to use the debit card than mom running all over the place filling up the cart. If this is your only one or last one leaving, it leaves a hole, for a...

Re: Can the HSBBWEB make a difference?
Well if we do that we also have to boycott almost every business here in the US who have laid off americans and employed those in other countries. MLB is a business, and the objective in any business is to make as much as you can for as cheap as you can. When I worked at American Express, the people making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year decided it was much more economical to set up call centers in other countries, the prime target was India. Re: Alternative to Muhl Balls?
We use basketballs and they work much better in my opinion. They're cheap (get the no name brand at wal-mart for a few dollars) too! If you're using them for younger kids use volleyballs or s****r balls.

Re: Batting gloves
My Son gets them free now in college, but we had the best luck with Cutters. Very durable! Search for a previous thread on here. Other than Cutters, we got just as much wear from the cheap Franklins at Wal-Mart as anything else. The key is to let them dry outside of the bat bag and not wadded up inside. I even thought about inventing some kind of plastic "hands" with air-holes in them or a cedar shoe tree-like thing for batting gloves.

Coach Crossland is what you see. There are no pretentiousness about him whatsoever. If he tells you something, take it to the bank. One lllooonnnggg A.S.S.game. HP hitters keep stepping outta the box. Wakeland pitcher takes a small walk every time they step back in the box. Re: Dilemma
Ted, just stop. Your kid is not a product to barter with. You say you wanted him to enjoy the summer, let him enjoy it, he might like the other positions and learn something about himself and being a leader on this team. When you sell a car or a house and the buyer says they will only use it 3 days a week or on weekends do you take 50% of the asking price? If so, lets talk. When you buy groceries, clothes or go to the movies do you tell Mr Wal Mart that you only plan to wear this t-shirt...

I knew I should have explained myself. My son was taking the Whey protein from Wal-Mart. Have no idea if it was working or not. Then we heard the Illinois High School Association was going to outlaw creatine. This supplement contained creatine. After a little internet research, I found that these supplements are not FDA regulated. What that meant to me was that the list of ingredients could tell you it contained things it did not contain...thus ripping you off. Worse yet, it could contain...

Well, that was unfortunate. Glad to see she'll be fine. Thanks for the link, Infield08. Hmmmm, it got me to thinking about my retirement plans. Unfortunately, Plan 2 is still the most likely: "Welcome to Wal-Mart."
