The Caravan manager letting their stud pitch a complete game in his first start of the year in 40 degree weather maybe ??

Way to go, Mood.

Assuming that Mount Carmel didn't score all ten runs in the 7th, and assuming that this is a meaningless non-conference game two weeks out of snow melt, why have a college-bound pitcher throw a complete game this early in the season?

I was in attendance at my son's home opener and was pleasantly surprised when, after four innings with a substantial lead, my son ran down the fence line and said "coach wants to know how deep I should go", looking for a suggested pitch count.. He came out well ahead of it.

I think the game was complete after just five innings.

Jerry Houston was 3-for-3 with a single, double and two-run homer to lead Mount Carmel (1-0). John Kravetz pitched a complete game and finished with four strikeouts.
