I wasn't there either, I "watched" the game on the computer. What you say makes sense, the Central pitcher has to put the ball right where he wants to, he is not going to blow it by anyone. If the pitches at the knees where not called strikes, he would be forced to get the ball up where good hitters will rip the cover off the ball. And Providence certainly has good hitters.

Again I wasn't there and I assume it was the same strike zone for both pitchers. But that certainly would make for a high scoring game. And you did have two very good pitchers handing out a lot of free passes that they usually don't issue.
As reported in the Daily Herald:

"Warren 6, Prospect 3: Steve Dazzo had a 1-hit shutout and faced the minimum through six innings in his first start for Prospect (8-2).

But a pair of groundball errors (1 really.. after a lead-off single) to start the seventh led to a 6-run outburst for Warren. Five runs off Dazzo (0-1) were unearned (really two unearned and four earned. Five hits in the inning, including a bases-clearing double by Cal Haley).

“Steve was incredible,” said Prospect coach Ross Giusti after the senior had 10 strikeouts and allowed only a third-inning single until the seventh. “It was one of the top 10 pitching performances I’ve seen since I’ve been here.”

Peter Bonahoom went 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and an RBI and Brad Gerdes had an RBI single for the Knights."

That's why you play all seven.

Ever have a Saturday tournament where all the Maine Twp school play each other? That could be some good games and a good money raiser?

Not a bad idea Papi, this could be a nice combined fundraiser complete with legends games and a home run hitting contest.

This would certainly have to be outside of the regularly scheduled conference meetings between the schools.
