They had a great run this year. Those Crusaders should be proud of their accomplishment!
And for Crusader the Cat...I'm gonna' miss him (or her?).
In my scorebook he/she still has eight lives to go...no?

Biggerpapi don't you have a couple playres going to d-1 schools next year? Who is on the putnam team? or just one of those games. Just kind of suprised with all the football scores I was seeing.
Thriller in Lombard yesterday.
Glenbard East 4
Batavia 3 8 innings
Walk off homer for Chris Milligan in the 8th.
Patrick Walsh in relief gets the Rams out of a jam in the 6th only allowing the tying run after entering with no outs and runners on the corners. Walsh ends up with the win.

Yup, I agree 2bagger. Plenty of rain falling on Mt. Prospect, Arlington Heights, Park Ridge, Vernon Hills, Crest Hill, Barrington Hills, Orland Hills, and Chicago Heights.
And with all of the scrambling and climbing terrain (as denoted in names of our suburbs) the massive amount of rainfall never has any trouble deciding where to go. Right?

Naperville Central 8
Hinsdale Central 3
Game closer than the score would indicate, Naperville got 4 straight 2 out RBI hits in the bottom of the sixth to score the 5 runs that were the difference in the game

Does anyone have knowledge of how the ihsa determines playoff sites?
One site does not have a tarp and games have been canceled yesterday and today.
Seems that you should have ducks in a row in order to host imo.

I don't know how they choose the site but I thought they bid on them from year to year.
I don't know many high schools that have a tarp and I don't know many that can handle the water we have had this spring and then the rain this week.
Some are getting them in however.

We got ours in unfortunately yesterday.

The field in Geneva must have had a tarp as the infield was dry. But wow what a difference from first pitch to last pitch.....low 70's wind blowing out to low 50's wind blowing in.
A nice improvement for GE from last season. Triple the wins and they were in most of their games. They have a very good sophomore class and should be pretty good next year.
Bring on summer travel !!!

Just wanted to throw a shout out to my buds at PBR and their always spot-on playoff predictions. Neither Stevenson nor Mundelein will be at Joliet this year.. Or at the sectionals for that matter.. And neither will Libertyville. Congratulations to Palatine, Deerfield and Warren on their regional wins and good luck at sectionals!

Deerfield high school beats Stevenson! OMG!
Fifteenth seed Deerfield beat the number eight state ranked Stevenson Patriots. This was simply a great baseball game. Deerfield lefty starter mark Blakey went all seven and threw an efficient 4 hitter. He kept Stevenson off balance all afternoon.
DH Sam Rodgers provided all three hits and all 3 rbi's. It proved to be all the offense the Deerfield team needed. The final score was 3-2.
Rodgers was not scheduled to start. After the original dh was ejected for wearing a rubber bracelet, Rodgers was put in the line up. The players, fans, and parents of the Deerfield warriors could not be happier that this happened!
This was another highlight for Deerfield as they defeated New Trier in extra innings earlier this season.
The Warriors will face St Viator on Monday in the regional finals.

Fifty!? Wow...that's too fast! Let's post this in the batter's box. Give the pitchers something to work on. Keep it safe!

Thanks Woody! Progress indeed. It was good to see.
I'll save the mini marshmallows for next winter...i mean spring no fall ball for mood jr. golf season to keep that three sport thing goin' for the fourth and final year.
.
Understood mood. Invite me out to a game next season. I could see us consuming many pints of that hot chocolate brew...mini-marshmallows doubled up and desperately hanging on to my double chin! The siren song of the sweet Swiss Miss© is terribly strong!
...What's that mood? Lil' marshmallows? On my chin? No way! Really? Corral 'em up for me. They're not gonna' get away that easy!

Oak park (29-9) defeats St.Rita 13-7 in sectional semi-final, advances to sectional championship.
Warren over Palatine 7-2. Ryan Kennedy throws a nice game against a hot hitting Palatine team. Home runs by Haley and Letto of Warren. Kennedy had 10 strikeouts in the win.
All with a bleeding blister on his forefinger that they repeatedly attempted to close with new skin and super glue. He brought home a couple of blood-stained baseballs to show his girlfriend...
Gentlemen, Kennedy was tough, impressed with his competetiveness. We did all that we could to put good swings on his pitches. Love his heart. Best wishes to him and Warren as they move forward.
Thanks, Coach. Your players are always very competitive, professional, respectful and have a great approach to the game. Nicely done and congratulations on the regional.

BTW - should head coach, Dom Savino, not be awarded Coach of the Year (unanimously, I might add), said award should cease to exist. What he has done for this program in his first season has been nothing short of a miracle.
