Since size does matter but is not necessarily a measure of a players power, arm strenght or speed, is size simply a durability issue? If so, would size then be of greater concern to a pro scout then say a college recruiter?
Honestly, I would lie if my son was under 6'. That is, unless your son is on the BA 100 list.
If you want to get a good look from colleges I would add and inch or so if my son was, say, 5'8" or 5'9". If you player is 6' or larger, don't do it. No reason to.

I researched 10 position players that signed with some top level D1 schools.
2 had the same height on both PG and D1 roster
4 were listed an inch shorter than PG
3 were listed 2 inches shorter than PG
1 2 inches taller
I guess colleges don't care
