I wondered what happened in that game after I read the score. Sort of surprised Chancellor got pounded like that. I expected a more competitive game. They played KG tough in both games.
Then again, baseball is a funny game at times. The "best" or "better" team on paper doesn't always win the game. Not saying Chancellor was the better team by any means, I'd still given Caroline the edge, but by no means did I expect a blow out score.

I will give Caroline this. They came to play even though it was their third game of the week. They executed perfectly on the bases, with a couple of miscues fielding and their bats were alive.

Maybe that loss against Spotsy put them on fire. Looking back at the last three games posted they haven't given up any runs and have scored over 30 runs. I thought with them losing their short stop would effect them, but they haven't missed a beat. In my opinion they are actually playing better baseball. The Drapier kid who is playing third since they moved Daig to short is batting like no other on the team. Carolines pitching staff consisting of Shiflett (JR), Beasley (SR),Daig (SR), Pico (SR), and Smith (JR) have been phenomenal. This team has recorded 8 shutouts and has only allowed 14 runs in 14 games. I don't think another team in the district has given up less than 20 runs in the 14 games or less shutouts. I would like to know the team ERA.

It was just a thought Zeus. I wonder if we are starting to see some of the full effects of the BBCORs since this is the first full year of BBCORs only. I truly think the overall hits may be way down.
I think you could be correct in that one, now I say I have seen a great portion of hits, but I have not seen that many hard hit balls and extra base hits as I have seen in previous years. Granted there has been some balls launched and smoked but no where near the amount that I have seen in previous years.

Damian Carroll pitched a no hitter and only allowed two base runners (HBP, BB) in 5 innings. Carroll had two hits including a base clearing bloop 3 RBI triple in the 5th to put the Foxes well ahead with a 6-0 lead. He also drove in the final run of the game in the 6th.

Wow! Sounds like a nailbiter.
Not sure how many K's Damian had. 8 or 9 I believe. He was "on" from the get-go. No more than 60-70 pitches - probably less than that.

Great game KG Foxes. Damian Carroll threw a beautiful game. The Foxes showed up in full force and Caroline couldn't keep them at bay.

did i hear things correctly today, is Caroline going to play a double header tomorrow vs Culpeper then against Courtland, i heard that rumor today. I am all for some baseball and will lok forward to being there for it, but is this smart with Culpeper and Courtland both battling for the fourth spot in the playoffs with EV, what do you guys think?

I talked with the Caroline coaches yesterday they are playing a doubleheader today because the students have prom friday night. And play in games will be Saturday so the league wanted things done before Saturday. Should be interesting for all the teams.

I had wondered what the outcome was. There was nothing in the Free-Lance Star and I hadn't seen anything posted.
I saw it in the free lance it was brief. By the way tonight there was a good one between EV and spotsy. Spotsy beat EV 5-4 EV runners at 2b and 3b 5-4 score line drive hit to SS to end the game, good game well played.
