You've heard of the Fierce Five? Yeah, well meet the Not-So-Magnificent Seven.

Bryce Harper (kneeling) and the rest of the Washington Nationals rookie class were instructed to go for the gold during the team's annual hazing on Sunday, but the group posted less than stellar scores after donning red leotards in tribute to the gold medalists from the U.S. women's gymnastics team. Veteran pitcher Gio Gonzalez posted the evidence on Twitter as the NL East leaders boarded a train — presumably all via handsprings and somersaults — for their series in New York this week. To borrow a corny joke from Nationals Enquirer, does this make them GymNats?

The Nats have a good history with creative rookie hazing stunts and this will presumably cause less cleanup than when they covered Stephen Strasburg in blue paint and dressed him as Papa Smurf. Can't imagine it's more hygienic, though, especially if they start serving up that cake that Christian Garcia is inexplicably holding.

These guys work hard enough, and its a grind.Sometimes it should just be about fun and relaxing.
You will have to excuse Bulldog. He has issues with his masculinity. He wishes it was 1850.

Well if by "issues" you mean, I think its proper to dress and act like a man, yeah I guess so.
Can you imagine baseball players in the 40's and 50's going through an initation or hazing such as dressing like a prostitute?
You may thinks its cute I think its deviant.

Until the state put an end to any hazing, at our high school first year varsity baseball and softball players had to dress like $luts for a day of school. My kids thought it was funny. They're secure about who they really are.

You're a neanderthal. You believe men have to puff their chests out all the time and be dominant over women. You believe women are supposed to be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen, and educating them is a waste of money.

Can you imagine baseball players of the 2010's openly discriminating against black players?
Referring to them by and calling them racist names?
Refusing to play with them?

I hope that someday you are lucky enough to have a player that has worked his rear end off for many years trying to reach his dream. Dressing that way proves that it's ok to be funny and you are comfortabel with who you are.

My son always went through something like this, HS varsity, college freshman and carrying bags and having to sleep on the bus floor because you are the last guy to join the team in AA, AAA and hopefully someday as a rookie in MLB.

These guys aren't 40-50.

I respect that you do not feel it is right, please do the same for those that have no issue with it.

Then I have a suggestion for you. Dont follow this thread anymore. You know what it's about so stay away!

Boston, I do believe that you post just to annoy, and most people who do that don't last long here.
