Question: How do your catchers put their hand in the glove? Do they have the index finger sticking out of the glove where the index finger is "designed" to by the glove company?

Reason I ask: When I caught in the minors, I learned real quick to slide all my fingers over one slot so that my index actually rested in the middle finger slot. This allowed a nice pocket for the ball to be caught in without hitting my hand. Saved my hand many a years!! I would suggest them doing that first. Then I have used "palm guard" also. I didn't like it real well because I felt the pad was a bit stiff and limited the "feel" of the ball in the glove.
