Looks like wild stuff is going on in Conference 22 once again. Fauquier is what I thought they were. I thought KG was going to be down, but I have been proved wrong. Good for then. Liberty is Liberty. Have talent, and senior loaded, but not always sure which team will show up. EV really struggled early in the year, but based on conference record they seem to have turned it around nicely and I believe are right in the fight with KG and Liberty for a 2 seed and a first round bye. I'm. It sure what to make of Courtland. They have talent. They have guys that can play, but it's just not coming together. They
Picked up a nice win over Liberty, which hopefully will get them a spark of confidence to ride this thing to a good finish. Chancellor is struggling once again. Just having trouble finding a way. They seem to be battling, but can't get over the hump.

The conference tourney should be a good one. If anyone has it in them to make a run at Fauquier, who would be in the mix of that conversation? KG is young and is playing well, will the lack of experience be a down fall? Will Liberty senior loaded roster buckle down? Historically, EV is not someone that people want to face come playoffs. And it seems as if they are catching a hot streak. Or will Courtland finally click? Any thoughts?

Looking at standings, and projecting just a bit:

Possible 1st round Tournament Matchups:

(6) Chancellor @ (3) Eastern View with the winner traveling to (2) King George

(5) Courtland @ (4) Liberty with the winner traveling to (1) Fauquier

A lot can change in next two weeks, but my guess is this is what the 1st round looks like.

Anyone know what day the playoffs will start?

KG still has a shot at the #1 seed if I have everything figured.  KG would have to win out over Fauquier, Courtland and Chancellor while  Fauquier would have to lose to KG and Liberty.  Then it would come down to tiebreakers or coin flip or preseason draw (not sure what they do anymore).  If FHS wins either, it doesn't matter what KG does.

It's also conceivable EV could get the #2 seed.  For EV to get #2 they would have to beat Liberty and KG lose out.  I really don't see KG losing all three games, but baseball is a funny game at times and strange things do happen.  EV is a dangerous team this time of year - when they need to win they usually do - especially in the playoffs.

Conference Records Is this correct as of 5/6, who is left to play:

8-0     Fauquier: KG 5/11), Lib(fri)

5-2     King George: Fauq(5/11), Court(today), Chanc(5/15)

5-4     Eastern View: Lib(5/19)

3-5     Liberty: Fauq(fri), EV (5/19)

2-6     Courtland: : KG(today), Chanc(fri)

1-7     Chancellor:  Court (Fri), KG (5/15)

I have also heard playoffs will be mon 5/25, wed and fri, higher seed host.

Any thoughts maybe for conference player of the year?

Az40dy I think with those stats plus fhs leading the way that would be a great place to start.

Thats what I thought as well Zeus, but the announcement last night was that the game would resume from the point of interruption on 5/7 at 4:30pm......so not really sure

Did KG/Courtland play and pick up where left off or start over?

From what i have gathered tonight if Fauquier beats liberty, Fauquier clinches the 1 seed

KG has at least the 2,

EV has the 3 with an outside chance at a 2, it will take KG losing 2 of last games

Lib and Court are battling for the 4/5 seeds, I would expect Liberty to be the 4 but still an outside shot for courtland they would have to win both remaining games and lib to lose both

Court and Chancellor for 5/6 seed Court has the inside track on the 5, but could come down to today when the two meet up.

If you were only talking about FHS and not the rest of the teams in the conference the MVP for Fauquier would be between Ryan Simpson and Gavin Cranford.

I'd have to have the score book for exact numbers but Cranford is hitting around .400 probably has the highest OBP in the conference, high RBI, Runs, stolen bases 4-0 in conference as a starting pitcher, 1 error as starting Shortstop. So really as far I'm concerned those would be the two players to consider from FHS for Conference POY.

Conference Records Is this correct as of 5/10, who is left to play:

9-0     Fauquier: KG 5/11)

6-2     King George: Fauq(5/11), Chanc(5/15)

5-4     Eastern View: Lib(5/19)

3-6     Liberty:  EV (5/19)

2-8     Courtland: :

2-7     Chancellor:  , KG (5/15)

non conference EV 2 Culpeper 1

and you guys said the lib vs fhs score

So it looks like

Fauquier 1 seed get winner of 4) Liberty vs 5)

KG 2 seed gets winner of 3) EV vs 6)

Right now the 5/6 seed if Chancellor can beat KG then Chancellor ends up the 5 seed, but if KG beats Chanc, both Courtland and Chancellor beat each other and beat Liberty, so not sure where it goes after that (pill draw maybe)

Reliever Mason Riser struck out 10 batters on the mound and added a triple and two RBIs for visiting Chancellor.

Thomas Cabrera’s three-run double sparked a decisive seven-run sixth inning for the Chargers (5–12, 2–7). Cabrera also threw out two runners trying to steal.

Tyler Fisher contributed two hits and an RBI for Chancellor, which visits King George next.

Brandon Haynes and Nick Ciafa had a hit and an RBI each for Courtland.

Chancellor 10
Courtland

Kaleb Stowe, Adam Stillabower (1), Mason Riser (2) and Thomas Cabrera. BRANDON HAYNES, Matt Henson (6) and Dakota Lann.

So it looks like the seeding is pretty much set.  Have to wait for KG vs Chancellor and EV vs Liberty to be sure.  EV has a shot at the #2 seed if KG loses and EV wins over Liberty.  That scenario would leave both with identical conference records. But I'm not sure of the tiebreaker - in head-to-head play they split.  In the past there use to be a preseason draw (1-8 for the Battlefield) - do they still do that or flip a coin?
