But I'm not sure of the tiebreaker - in head-to-head play they split.  In the past there use to be a preseason draw (1-8 for the Battlefield) - do they still do that or flip a coin?

To my knowledge, it goes conference record, then head to head then best record vs highest rank opponents, then not sure if it still is pill draw or not.  I think if this is the case KG beat Lib twice and EV split which would make KG the 2. at least im pretty sure that is the way it happened.

Zeus, if EV and KG end up tied at 6-4, Chancellor and Liberty would end up at 3-7 (Chancellor beating KG on May 15 & EV beating LIB on May 19). Chancellor would end up #4 and Liberty #5 based on pill draw. Meaning the tie breaker between EV and KG would be based on record vs. Chancellor not Liberty. EV would be 2-0 vs. Chancellor while KG would be 1-1.

Does anyone know how the other conferences are doing

All that said, if KG beats Chancellor on Friday, the seeds are set

#1 Fauquier         10-0

#2 King George    7-3

#3 Eastern View   6-4 or 5-5

#4 Liberty           3-7 or 4-6

#5 Courtland        2-8, win pill draw over Chancellor

#6 Chancellor      2-8

First Round

(6) Chancellor @ (3) Eastern View, winner travels to (2) King George

(5) Courtland @ (4) Liberty, winner travels to (1) Fauquier

Thoughts on potential player of the year in Conference 22

I think it is always a difficult thing to compare/contrast players and ultimately decide on who they think is POY.  I know that offensive stats will certainly play a big role in determining this award but I would also point out that there are other things to consider?  How valuable is that particular player to their team?  how many wins did that player make a huge contribution for their team?  Is that player willing to sacrifice stats for the team?  How does that player field his position (s)?  Of the games I have seen the following players have all impressed me in some way:  Z. Teeple, Ty Pavlock, Ryan Simpson, Brock Smith, Ryan Fogle, Mason Riser and Chayton Lukkes.  I'm not saying this is a complete list...just my thoughts.

I think phitinphilshas it nailed down in the conference as it has made sense to me, the pill draw as explained to me was Court 1, Chanc 2, EV 3 for tie breakers because i think those where the only schools in question on ties

As far as regionals

Regional pairing

1 seed conference 22 vs 2 seed conference 24

1 seed conference 24 vs 2 seed conference 22

So who is doing well in conference 24

Conference 24

E.C. Glass
Jefferson Forest
Pulaski County
Salem-Salem
George Washington
Carroll County
Bassett
William Fleming

Info comes from a combination of sources (both ADs and Coaches)......

Same kind of race happened last year between Chancellor and King George for #2 seed, everyone convinced KG had it wrapped up, yet Chancellor ended up #2 seed. Came down to quality wins in conference.

As far as Conference 24 goes. EC Glass is 12-4 and leading the conference I believe with Pulaski County or Jefferson Forest in 2nd place. After that the standings are all jumbled. If I were to guess, I would say the two regional teams will come from these three teams: EC Glass, Jefferson Forest and Pulaski County, but thats why they play the conference tournaments....

Conference 15

Mt. View...4-0

North Stafford...3-1

Massaponax...2-2

Potomac...2-2

Brooke Point...1-3

Freedom...0-4

Friday Night.

Mt. View vs. North Stafford -- winner takes #1 seed/losing team is #2

Brooke Point vs. Massaponax -- if Ponax wins they should be #3 seed

Potomac vs Freedom -- Potomac is #3 with a win and Ponax loss.

Big night for KG. Win locks up a 2 seed while a loss means they have to wait for the EV Liberty game on Tuesday. I saw an earlier post that said they had it already. If they are both 6-4 and since they split, the quality wins goes against the highest seed remaining. Both EV and KG were swept by Fauquier, so the next highest seed would be Chancellor in the 4 slot.  EV swept chancellor while KG would have split (if KG loses today) thus giving EV the 2 seed.

We have reached the last day of the regular season, only one conference game tonight, but it will affect seeding:

Liberty @ Eastern View         4:45pm

Non-Conference:

Caroline @ Chancellor           5:00pm

Brentsville @ Fauquier          6:00pm

James Monroe @ Courtland    7:30pm

King George's last two games (5/18 vs. Dinwiddie, 5/19 @ Spotsylvania) have been cancelled.

From what I hear, the Conference 22 playoffs will actually start on Friday 5/22 (and run 5/22, 5/26, 5/29) a change from last year.

The semis are Tuesday and the final is Thursday. The final is set for Thursday in case of rain, because the region starts at the beginning of the week.

Per the pitching rules, whoever pitches on Friday provided they go with decent amount of innings, 4  plus, would not be eligible to pitch again until the finals.  The benefit of being the one or two seed , means that they are going to have everybody on their staff on deck, to secure a win, in the semi's, because they'll only have to win that one game in order to get to regionals.
A pitcher who pitches 4-7 innongs in 1 calendar day must have two calendar days rest...

After 2 days that pitcher may pitch a maximum of 2 innings....

After 3 days that pitcher may pitch maximum of 3 innings....

So a pitcher who throws 4-7 innings on Friday May 22 (rest on Saturday, Sunday and Monday) wpuld be eligible to pitch 3 innings in semi final game on Tuesday.
