Only 7% of teams who lost their first regional game advanced to the Super Series.

I appreciate the expanded coverage during the Regionals. But it certainly exposes that there are more games to cover than ESPN has good baseball play by play guys. Good grief! Now we have another reason to turn off the sound besides the Vandy whistler.

Ga Tech/Army is the worst of all time
The plate umpire in the Wake / ECU game has been absolutely horrible today

Was about to rag on ECU until they redeemed themselves quite nicely with a 9th inning comeback win - after giving up a 5 spot in the top of the 9th to lose the lead in a game they dominated from the beginning. That’s not easy to do with your season on the line.
Has baseball become so boring music has to be cranked between every pitch?
Just finished watching the late innings of the High Point, Vanderbilt game.
Dear Whistler, take your whistling fingers and shove them where the sun don’t shine and go home.
Watching the CWS brings back memories of previous years. It’s why I posted about Tre Morgan.
Another player I thought of last night is Seth Beer. I remember it was a big coup for Clemson to snag him. He had an awesome college career. He went in the first round to the Astros. He tore it up in their minor league system. He was traded to the Dbacks in the Greinke trade. He was eventually called up but didn’t stick. He got injured and released. He’s now in his first year with the Pirates organization. He’s only 27. It’s not too late.

It takes sixteen teams of announcers. During the season several of these guys are doing secondary P5 games we’re not watching unless it’s your team.
Many of the games are done by the same guys in the same day depending on the conferences playing. It's all done remotely.
You won't have to worry about the whistler anymore. Vandy lost and is on their way home.
Quite a lot of #1 and #2 seeds out already.
Remember in 2018 Pat Casey rode Oregon State, top prospect, freshman pitcher Kevin Abel like a mule to win the CWS?
He blew out his arm early the next season and missed all of the following season. After a decent redshirt soph year at age 22 he was drafted in the 7th round. At 25 he was just called up to AA. His control was the only question entering college. It’s been a serious problem in the minors post injury.
A favorite former college player is in the news today. Nick Madrigal was a stud at Oregon State. He got off to a great start in MLB. Then he got injured. He’s never fully recovered. He was sent down today hitting .221.
I hate the remote coverage. Crowd reacts a full second or two before anybody says anything. The crew covering the NC State regional is brutal.
I did NOT have K - State beating Arkansas and going to a Super on my bingo card this year.

The commentator chanting "SEC, SEC" during the K - State / SEMO game was beyond embarrassing.
The ECU/Evansville game is a perfect illustration of why a team has to be really good at the C position to have an exceptional season.

LIU had a few strikes in that final inning collapse go the other way against UNC. We saw how that ended. Pitchers were missing spots pretty badly but I can't help but feel like they gave some away. Changes the whole dynamic - especially when those borderline strikes turn into lopsided counts really puts the pressure on
Wow, Evansville!

This was son's team (he's redshirting after having TJ). Think LIU had a solid shot at winning the game, unfortunately brutal last inning. What was more interesting is a guy throwing 87-89 shut down UNC's offense for most of the game.
Did you know ….
The shortstop on the 1969 Ole Miss CWS team was Archie Manning.

Beat TN and one win away from the CWS. Playing their best ball at the right time.

Looks like Florida will have two teams in the CWS. Another tidbit is that two Oregon teams made it into the supers. For a non southern state OR seems to always have competitive teams.

BOF, you nearly jinxed UFL by posting that when it was only the 7th inning!

No he did not!
And that team that didn't deserve to get a bid...........
IS GOING TO OMAHA!

Half or Oregon’s roster is from CA to NM. A third of Oregon State’s roster is. The weather is mid 50s to low 60s in February and March.
One of the greatest catches you will see at any level of play by Cam Cannarella. If he doesn’t catch this it’s series over. He ran and leaped full speed into the wall, over the shoulder. There isn’t a warning track to know where he is. He actually didn’t catch the ball in his glove. It bounced off his glove and he clenched it to his chest.,
Kentucky just scored the go ahead run, err winning run in the 7th on a wild pitch. The pitcher didn’t cover home. The runner scored from second.
Another great weekend of baseball. Nothing has been done around the house the past two weekends. Not sure if anything does anytime soon. Looking forward to the CWS this weekend! GBO!

They are!
@anotherparent I know I looked at the score and FL was up by 7 and I thought no way they are going to lose.... I went back to check and the game was tied and I thought "Oh schist I might have jinxed the team" Went back and saw they wone by 1. After watching a lot of regional college baseball I should have known better, but it worked out.

On the other side of the plate - OSU put the tying run on in the 9th. Nobody holding the runner on and he doesn't take 2nd. Bazzana hits one off the wall and he does not score.
ARCEKU21 not much done here either!
Gators play A&M first.
Making the trip to Omaha for the weekend to catch the Vols Friday and Sunday games. Kind of bitter sweet since my son didn't get to be in the dugout for the regionals/supers. But he wanted to go support his teammates this weekend. This will be my first time at the CWS. Looking forward to a great weekend.
Crazy that only the ACC and SEC are represented at this years CWS. Looking forward to it none the less. You could argue there are no bona fide underdogs this year.
A couple observations from the regionals and super regionals games that I watched.
1) Glad to see Florida win over Clemson. @TPM must have been torn up. I was not impressed with Clemson's bush league first base running that ended up getting Crighton ejected. Ridiculous. Not clear on the Bakich/Leggett ejection, but I can only guess that something was said to the folks in blue that was not embraced. That made a Florida fan out of me quickly.
2) The balls have to be juiced. I saw some terrible swings go for HRs this year in regionals and super regionals. Some almost looked like check swings. There shouldn't be any cheap homers in Omaha. That is a huge outfield.
As always, JMO.
Fenway, are you aware they lowered the seams on the college ball a few years ago? It makes it harder on pitchers to get spin and less wind resistance when the ball is launched.
