Congrats to local kids named to CMWS all-tournament team: Abel Baker (catcher), Preston Beck (third), Corey Brooks (pitcher), and Jonathan Walsh (utility & hitting award)

I listen in on the radio. The Dallas teams represented North Texas well. No other area of the country had two teams there. I also noticed that Walsh received the top hitter award that they call the "Big Stick". I didn't hear all of the stats but I caught he hit over .500, hit several doubles and was walked a number of times with a slugging average over .800. In several games Beck had some big hits, as did Baker. I know Beck got at least one big home rum. Of course, Brooks pitched really well as did a number of Dallas kids.

Cat,

We may cheer for different select teams, but I kinda dug your comment...it gave me a chuckle.

Come on workinghard, Cat was just making a light-hearted jab at all the great change that is going on in the good ole USA right now... Eek

Goota go now, though, headed to go turn in my clunker for a Mercedes... Big Grin

I thought Tech Grads drove White Broncos???
I would like to congratulate dbat for their 2nd place finish.

Also, I would like to thank all of my players and families that made the trip to Farmington. Also those that missed the trip for injuries (Kettler), Pro ball (Congrats Colton Cain), AFLAC (Lipka and Ragira) and football commitments (Lee). As most of you know, several of those kids have played for me for more than half their lives. It was a tough night watching my kids high school careers come to an end. It happens every year and I'll never get used to it. I'm looking forward, as I do every year, to follow my kids progress in college and pro ball. That is why I do this. To this day, I still communicate with players that played on my first Tiger team in 1993. To my players, thank you all for the memories. And good luck to all the players from the DFW area with their careers.
As an observer of all the Tiger CMWS games, despite their strong performance, it was still sad (from a nostalgic pov) to have several of their staples absent. After watching the nucleus of this team play together for several years, I can see where Tommy is sad that their tenure together has come to an end. Congratulations on a great run!
For two teams from the same area to make it to CMWS is great accomplishment in itself. Congratulations to both TEAMS! These kids made alot of memories for themselves, coaches and parents this past week. My son would have killed to have been able to play in Farminton,NM. Thanks to the D'bat Mustang players for letting an old man tag along and experience something truly magical!

Admit it, deep down you are just like SWAC.......Tiger Haters

No Tiger hater here maybe a JAFO hater for always starting $hit. Known Linty from the old Thunder days and he is a good friend. But with the JAFO some stripes never change.
