Melynda -- what's the next step for that big kid that eats your food in the summer?
Hey PD -- He just flew to Boulder, Co. yesterday for a visit with big sister. Dr. says he needs to "rest" the knee for a season and he agrees.... not sure if the surgery was as "sucessful" as we once thought. I have a feeling he will want to "stay" in Colorado more than the 5 vacation days scheduled. (Sent daughter some $$ to feed him ..... she has NO idea that a Wendy's drive thru with him = $10.00!)
How's football practice??
How's football practice??
They started after-school practice yesterday and he complained that he was throwing everything like a baseball -- go figure!
Colorado doesn't sound too bad at the moment, eh?

At least he's not throwing like a girl!
(oh no, a politically incorrect statement on the HSBBWS.... sorry Mr. Moderator!)

But, one day he might be walking like a "Duck"

very creative, OBN!
Ringer1,
I don't know who you think thier ace is but I think you are wrong, if my assumsuntion is wrong I apolize. Naaman has a very strong pitcher coming back who I think is going to prove that you don't need to be in the papers all the time to be good. I've seen this kid pitch for a number of years and I knew he would make his mark. So just watch and see.

The kid I'm talking about is Chris Haney. I had to look on the Naaman website in order to remember it. He is an absolute great pitcher and as far as I know he was their ace last year. Anyway, is this the kid you are referring to? If it's not I would like to know who you are talking about.
Totally agree with Ringer1 - Chris Haney will be a force to be reconed with. Can't recall anyone stronger at NF. They will be in the race again this year.
Ringer,
Go back and look again. I don't like to name names but there is a better pitcher on naaman's team. We have played against him for years and he is better than Haney.

You have a PM
Haney, any relationship to Coach Haney of the old Texas Blues????
Hey obn,
I thought Haney was the old Dallas Texan coach.
I mean the coach of the old Dallas Texans.

Yes, the former coach of the Texans.
The last coach I remember coaching the Blues was Gary Fitzgerald.
Chris can deal and he is the Texan Coach Haney's son
Great catcher also, and can play a little third.
He was throwing low 90's on the stalker this summer. Be hard to beat him out as the #1.
Been playing for the Evil Empire the last few summers.

That's right Texans not Blues, but didn't at one time those 2 combine??????????? Maybe I am wrong.
The Dallas Mustangs - West (who later became the Heat-Vanlandingham) combined with the Texans for the fall of '03 I believe. After that, most of the Texans went to other ballclubs.
With regards to Namaan's staff, are you talking about the Pierce kid? Him and Haney are a nice 1-2 combo, but I would still rate Haney as the #1. IMHO.
Longtoss
Everybody has thier own, but in mine I'll have to go with the Pierce kid.

KD,
Your mind is better than mine... just remember lots of merges a couple years ago.......good thing is the players are still playing, and playing well, even if the teams are no longer around.....

gottaluvbb,
I forgot about Mr Pearce. Yes he's a good ballplayer also but I would still go with Haney as my ace. Naaman's chance of repeating as district champs is very promising. IMO

OBN,
I believe the Blues was ran by Mr. Fitzgerald who is now with the Tigers.
Gottcha,,,, My Mind is as old as my bat.....It is all coming back to me, with the info. you guys have given, Hank Haney, Texans,,, Blues Fitzgerald........
So, what's Fitz like as a head coach???
Haney.......i've seen both, it's not comparable. No brainer.
chris haney is very dominant....all state utilty i had the privallege of watching him this summer and has very good command with all his pitches whatever college gets him will be very lucky he can play anywhere...now the pierce kid the games i saw of him he was throwing gas but noone knew where it was going
I will take 9 Chris Haney's and play any takers.
Wouldn't that be confusing?
ijustwannaplay,
I think you were watching the wrong kid. Pierce is right on with his pitches. Son's team played against Mustang's with Haney pitching and he was having trouble, looked wild to me gave up some runs and was taken out. Got a chance to see the Pierce kid throw at a showcase and he was throwing gas and strikes.

You're kidding, I hope. Every pitcher has an occasional rough outting. I know a kid that once gave up 13 runs in .1 innings -- throwing 65 pitches. I'm glad he was given another chance. This summer he was 8-2-1 against very good competition.
Concerning the comparison between these kids -- it sounds like a good "problem" for NF -- which one is #1 seems like a moot point.
13 runs and 65 pitches in 1/3 inning? Did his coach not like him????quote:Originally posted by Panther Dad:quote:Son's team played against Mustang's with Haney pitching and he was having trouble, looked wild to me gave up some runs and was taken out.

Careful John -- this is a sensitive subject.
you must have only seen one game
I saw Pierce in a showcase too at Baylor....and I would take Haneys stuff every day and twice on Sunday. Pierce was everywhere.

Get those kids OFF the computer! Dtiger is enough without beginning to get feedback from our kids, OP.
Of course, I'm not sure Myspace is a better alternative.
Panterdad??? Huh?
