Got the word that our HS team in Illinois, Lake Zurich, is going to play a conference game vs. Libertyville at the Brewers home stadium of Miller Park on May 10. Apparently, the Brewers will sell each team an allotted number of Brewers game tickets in exchange for allowing them to play on the field. Of course our coach is expecting the players to turn around and sell the tickets to recoup his costs. I think each player in the program will be responsible for 10 tickets.

Just thought it was kind of a cool thing for the kids and wanted to pass it along to perhaps stir some interest in similar ideas with other programs.

This will be Kenosha Tremper's 4th season in a row playing at Miller Park. The team is responsible to sell a certain amount of tickets to cover costs and then some, it is quite a big amount. Tremper has always had the opportunity to sell tickets for the Cub games and has made making the quota quite easy. Seeing the kids play at Miller Park is always a great time. This will be my sons 5th time playing in the big warehouse, (when the roof is closed.)
CPLZ,

No PA and they only use the Diamondvision to keep score. No extra frills, just the opportunity to get to play at a Major League park. As a matter of fact no infield taken and the kids have to stay off the grass before the game just using the dirt warning track around the field to warm up. The pitchers do get to warm up in the bullpen though. One thing you will notice is the sound of the ball coming off an aluminum bat that echos pretty well in a mostly empty stadium.
Great experience though, something your family and son will remember till he is there getting paid to play. Wink
