Weaver #5,
Did Duncan go all the way for New Trier today?
Congratulations to all of the winners today...especially Whitney Young.
And J.Weaver#5...your post above was pure class. This trait will serve you very well in life son.
And I would like to report that in our local paper there was an account of the St.Laurence and Lyons Township game. Casey McMurray, LT's standout slugger, was extremely gracious towards the victorious St.Laurence team with his comments in the paper. It was worth noting.

Thank you for all the compliments Weaver. You pitched the game of your life yesterday against GBN and we were very happy that we didn't have to face you. Congrats on a great season, was it 9-0? Thats amazing.
Paul Duncan threw 4 innings and Will Hebard pitched the 5th.

my question is, how is Lake Forest getting it done? They didn't show me a whole lot when we faced them in early May. Who's pitching/ hitting for them? Could it be the next St. Pats
Weaver-
Your performance against GBN was one of the best I've ever seen, and like Lash said, we were happy it was one day before we had to play you. You are definetely one of the classiest kids we've played against, and you clearly have a bright future ahead of you. Congrats on an outstanding season.

Lash- Lake Forest is getting hot at the right time and that's all that matters this time of year. And John Weaver, thank's for all the compliments. I did't see your whole pitching performance against GBN, but I did see your At-Bats, and you're a great hitter. Keep it up man. Where are you going 2 college?
Thank you for the compliments guys. I really do appreciate it. That being said, I consider myself lucky that I didn't have to face you guys. That hitting show you guys put on was amazing.
Neal, right now I don't have the foggiest idea of where I am going to college. Thankfully I still have another year to decide that.
Congratulations again, on the win and more so on your guys committments. All your seniors have great schools lined up. Now please go ahead and win state, our whole team agrees that you deserve it.
By the way lash, 28 is a pretty darn good score.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that these high school players posting above, brings a breath of fresh air to this site. Especially the class they show in their posts. Keep it coming guys! We can use a little more of you and a little less of...
WindyCity,
I totally agree. It is great to see the players making such great posts and showing so much respect for each other. Maybe this can be an example for all of the parents/coaches and adult fans on the website. It seems that all of the adult bantering and arguing has certainly reduced the number of players who used to contribute to this website!!

Windy City, Hopperhop,
Reading this wonderful dialogue from these outstanding student athletes is very refreshing. I know I've been reminded of what this site was based upon and many of us, myself included, seem to forget all too often. Thanks boys for showing us the way.

Both Super-Sectional games at Schaumburg were cancelled for today
Br Rice going to state. They beat Minooka 7 -3 tonight in Game 1 @ Crestwood. Sophomore Pat Gannon pitched the final 4 innings for the win.
St Rita beat Whitney Young in game 2, 4-2. Good pitching on both sides; defense did in Whitney Young tonight. Chojnowski started for SR and Zych finished last 1+ innings. Coleman started for Whitney Young and Friedman the last 2 or so innings.

Anyone know if the nt and op games are still on in Schaumburg?
No one is phoning the score into IHSA...no score reported on their website regarding either game at Alexian Field.
Anyone know what is happening? Scores? Official attendance? Official start time? Etc.?

New Trier was up like 3 or 4 when I left in the bottom of the 6th. The broke it open with a bases clearing double by Neal. NT went up 4-0 and gave it all back plus one (5-4) with 2 outs with sloppy play in the top of the 5th. NT got one back in the 5th to tie and took the lead in the 6th. Thats all I know.

Final nt 9 and op 5.
2 very good teams, some sloppy play with about 5 errors or so and some walks that hurt. Some nice timely hitting the one by Neil was a beauty. The pitching was good from both teams and when you have a lead and that lefty from nt comes in (Duncan) it sure looks like it is over. 2 of the best teams I saw all year.

Brother Rice crowns Dundee-Crown...9-8. Must have been a good game.
Rice comes back from 4-0 deficit with a 6 run inning. Gannon again comes through to close out game..this sophomore has been dealing the last week. Kenny Long/LHP from Dundee gets roughed up a bit.
Wow!
