Don't mean to dampen your spirits, but it will be VERY tough to play professional baseball in Japan right out of college. They turn down many AAA players with lots of MLB experience.

I actually think your chances of playing professional baseball out of college would be better here in the States.

However, if your dead set on reaching your goal, I'd recommend finding a real good agent with deep ties and a long history of working with Japanese baseball clubs.

Good luck

Several years ago the Japan Industrial League requested that I locate a College graduate to play on the Fuji Industries Team.

The Industrial League is similar to our minor leagues with many of the major corporations [Honda, Toyota] fielding teams.

A great opportunity to learn International business and play baseball. Our contacts in China have a similar situation for American players. It depends on your tools and desire.

Thank you for the information.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear. That is one of the reasons I found Japan so interesting and wanted to play there.

I think I have received information from the Goodwill Games and once again appreciate your information.
Stern 8989;
what year in college? Are you JC, NAIA or NCAA? You may desire to complete a player profile on our web site <www.goodwillseries.org>.

Our American Team will play a Goodwill Series June 7-20 in Japan. Rob, my son and I can investigate the Industrial Teams.

We will need your resume and background information and a name of a pro scout.

The China pro league is similar and is in the 3rd year. Maybe one or two US players each team. The adjustment and conformity to the customs of each country is critical to your success.
